I've heard Chelsea fans rave about how Chelsea have handled the manager situation in the past. To me is stupid. They've had 15 managers in 19 years. I don't think a manager has lasted more than 3 years at Stamford Bridge since Bates sold the club in 2003. There's no stability at the club.
All true. My only worry with the 49ers being an investment bank committed to paying dividends annually to their investors is will they be over cautious re investment in squad, ground etc. After all they have no expertise in football and Im sure our close shave last season would have terrified them
Ahhh... so we did it for footballing reasons to help Dan out in world cup year Glad we've cleared that up... and that it wasn't because he was the only one we had interest in... and we needed one in one out to secure the services of an 18 year old for the u21s For a guy in media, Radz hasn't really nailed this whole PR thing has he?
If I was Potter I would say No. IF he takes that job he'll be gone in 2 years maybe 3 at the most then he'll be fired. His stock will plummet and when he get's a new job he'll end up with a Forest or Fulham type of job. The smart move will be to hang tight at Brighton for another couple of years and when the FA sack Southgate (And it's coming) to take the England job.
That's all well and good but it's not that long ago our average home league attendance was 24000 for a season.
Yep and I remember 17k for one home game in protest at Bates. Thinkthe average was around 20k one season and not many more under the Cellino and GFH lot. Only when Bielsa came did the fans want to knock the gates down to get in and obviously we now have everyone wanting to be associated with us and can deffo say if we get relegated we can excpect a lot of fans to vanish
To be fair the attendances crept back up over 30,000 when Monk was in charge as all it needed was a play off challenge and Bates to go 2015/16 Average attendance 22,445 2016/17 Average attendance 27,698 2017/18 Average attendance 31,525 Bielsa came in for the start of the 2018/19 season and we then averaged 33,598 Edit; Cellino took over fully from GFH when he bought their remaining shares in Sept 2016.
Forgot about Monk and councides with starting to play some good stuff, Pablo was a babe in arms and Didnt we have a decent left back in those days
Cuddly Ken's last season was 2012/13 when we only averaged 21,572 (GFH took over Dec 2012 with Bates staying on as Chairman) Who was the left back as the name escapes me ?
I think that Potter will be the next boss Heis a good manager but will he cope with such a large squad of prima donnas,.im not sure As for Cody this wi9ll run for at least 4 months by which time someone else will sign him
He is a good manager that why he should stay clear of Chelsea. Ever wait for the FA to come knocking or wait for Arteta to leave Arsenal where he can build his ow project.
The England job isn’t for someone like Potter who I’m sure will want to be successful in club football for a good few years first. Proving himself against the best and involved in it for a good ten months of the year as opposed to a game now and again again the likes of Lichtenstein and San Marino. It’s a job for a done nothing won nothing woke yes man and Southgate is perfect for it. Just so happens the gormless twat is useless at the actual coaching side of it.
