Makes me wonder if part of Tuchel's downfall is due to Conte making him look an absolute mug. I don't mean just that by any stretch of the imagination, but as far as publicity goes, Conte is a different level, it was like getting spanked by Spurs 10-0
Everyone hires a manager hoping they will be in the role for years. No one hires a manager and goes "I Hope he ****s up and is sacked in 6 months". So when clubs make statements like this, it is completely empty and meaningless. The manager will stay as long as the results go our way, and when they stop going our way, he will be **** canned.
I think it was wrong to sack Tuchel. Too much knee jerk at start of season. He's proven he's a good manager in previous seasons. Summer transfer strategy was more than just a trifle odd though.
To be fair, it wasnt Tuchel's strategy All the players he wanted were dicking us about waiting to see if Barca were gonna get funds. I'm talking mainly about Raphinha and Kounde here. We spent too long letting them lead us up the garden path, when we should have just said "You either want to sign or you dont" and told them to **** off. Instead we wasted half the window courting two players who didnt really want to sign for us, then turned down one of the best forwards ever to have played the game. Boehly's strategy was baffling. Whilst I think Koulibaly and Fofana are capable defenders, they were signed late, especially Fofana, which meant they had less time to bed in. And instead of signing Ronaldo we signed Aubameyang......the verdict remains to be seen on that one. Tuchel had lost the dressing room, and because he didnt get the players he wanted, he started to become belligerent and salty, one AND off the field. Not a good look and results were starting to go sideways as a result.
If you genuinely love football leave him be. Let him go to a decent big club. I don't want to see him at Everton in a year holding his p45 bruv.
Apparently he was very shocked by the call and begged for a chance to turn things around. Begged please log in to view this image
