I vote for Lampard. That would be great.

Morally I hope Potter doesn’t go. In terms of my best against my Brighton mates, I really hope he does!

Was it on here or another football website that I read someone talking about how the shelf life of top English/British coaches to take their chance when one of the big boys comes along seems to be quite small?

There are moments when they are at the top of their game but then seem to fall away. Howe at Bournemouth was an example. I don’t think Rodger’s at Leicester was as this focused on English.

Because some Brighton fans are saying “this isn’t a once in a lifetime opportunity for him”. They might be right. But they also might not be

I’m not convinced he is first choice anyway

They'll replace him with someone clever though - Marco Rose or the young fella from Salzburg.

There are definitely big moves that are worth turning down simply because the reality of the job doesn't match the expectations (see: every Man Utd manager for the past half-decade) and it'll only tarnish your own reputation down the road, but yeah: so much of having a team be good is between partially and mostly out of the control of the manager, so you probably shouldn't turn down opportunities because they might not be there in a year or two.

I'll throw my fake bet in on Ruben Amorim at Sporting. Progressive young manager who plays an attacking style that is focused on movement and honestly wouldn't be a bad fit for Chelsea's personnel.

What a tool. Of course he's taking training this morning - Tuchel's only just been sacked!

Proper talksport style reporting where they need constant reporting even if there is no news

It was just after Everton had WARCHEST wasn’t it? Think he had the opportunity to spend a lot there

Potter seems on - Chelsea will probably pay the £16 million for him.

Yep. Been given permission to speak to them by Brighton.

Who would replace Potter at Brighton might be a more interesting question - Tuchel or Poch don’t really seem to be their style.

Rose, Salzburg bloke. Someone like that.

    Maybe Thomas Frank?

Really doubt he’d leave now, but Postecoglou would be interesting for them.

...though they may be too late, seems he's signing for Leipzig this afternoon.
