Wish Nathan well. A player who you could see had ability but could just not display it anywhere near regularly enough, shame. Always wanted him to do well but now is a good time for him to go.
Andy Carroll has 9 goals in league play in 6 years. If all you want is a target man, just have Adama Traore stand perfectly still in the center of the park, and bounce long balls off his baby-oil-slick torso. Not like anyone will dislodge him.
Take out Thiago Silva and they haven't got a particularly old squad. James, Mount, Pulisic, Havertz, Broja, Cucurella, Chilwell, Fofana, Gallagher are all 25 or under.
Not surprising at all. He seems a bit of a fraud really. And his inability to try and adjust his playing style to utilise and 100m striker (whether he wanted him or not) is inexcusable really and makes me surprised he wasn’t sacked last season. And he probably would have been had it not been for the sanctions situation Broja might have a much better chance now
Are they counting Kante and Azpilicueta as well? Not sure jorginho’s age but I don’t think he is “old”. So it isn’t too bad. And the new owners are generally prioritising young players on 6+ year deals (this is seen both in practice but I was told this by someone ITK)
Poch or Potter seem the logical picks, although Poch loves Spurs and Potter’s project seems to finally be getting to the pinnacle.
I don't think Poch would be put off by those players. Thiago Silva is still performing at a high level, Azpilicueta is only on a short contract (1 year I think?) and Kante and Jorginho are 30. Not exactly OAP's!
Wonder if the new owners would be smart enough to look at Graham Potter or whether they will only go for a big name.
It would be quite amusing to see the reaction of the Brighton fans if Potter left for Chelsea after the Cucurella saga.
