Germany's electricity has gone up 400% on a year ago so I don't know where your figures come from Bobby France is subsidising its energy, which is where Germany and the UK are headed
Dunno. Just doing a classic kiwi Anyway i just had a look and electricity prices for germans went up and from this article it mentions 50% increase and 14% more for gas https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2022/08/27/xvdd-a27.html https://www.reuters.com/business/en...her-480-euros-year-under-gas-levy-2022-08-15/ Anyway, the point is that even though we dont use much Russian gas at all, ironically we have been charged the most out of this fallout
Liz has a plan. Not a good one but nothing a few front pages about dinghies and Meghan Markle won’t solve.
How much electricity cost in Germany 2022? I took it from this on Google In July 2022, the average wholesale electricity price in Germany surpassed 315 euros per megawatt-hour, nearly four times the price recorded a year earlier. This was also by far the highest figure registered in the displayed period I guess the point is, even if Germany buys from the Russians and the price goes up, it puts the price of gas up for everyone else. We don't have exclusive access to non-Russian gas. Let's hope Prime Minister Truss gets her act together and finds an answer that helps those in need, for this winter and probably next, without making energy so reasonable that consumers are wasteful of it. Severely tightening our energy belts has to be a given for now.
Had you really been doing a classic kiwi you would ignore any questioning of your posts and paste a few more
I think you are looking at the wholesale price goldy. I think our wholesale prices have gone up even higher. I was just looking at the cost to the normal population (effectively the price cap in the uk). I assume germany has a similar thing but its the government that is funding it (like france).
Quite possibly! At the end of the day, I doubt consumers in Germany, France or the UK will be treated particularly differently. Urgent measures are needed here before the cold weather comes.
Truss’ (please correct apostrophe use) first act is to drive around London in a big column of cars during rush hour so she gets to avoid the rain when she makes her epoch shaping ‘hi I’m Liz, the new boss’ speechlet in Downing Street.
Surely we should all be calling her Liz? Or is she not 'cuddly' enough to be known by her first name like Boris....personally I like Mad Lizzie, suits her well
