I’m pleased you have the ability to share your feelings with scroungers and don’t like people who’ve worked their entire life. You seem meant for each other.
There are a range of people doing it from the odd opportunity to full time. I knew a lad who got the odd day planting trees and got a few quid every few weeks. Pointless signing off and I don’t begrudge him at all. It made him happy for the odd weekend and he bought clothes. We couldn’t all take that option anyway. The benefits of a type of UBI would be less bottom end poverty and the knock on benefits for the wellbeing of the nation which should be our national measure of success not financial. .
So you think I haven’t worked hard my entire life and most of my friends the same ? Doesn’t mean I have to be an arrogant horrible **** to other people. That’s your prerogative.
Individuals committing fraud and being disrespectful. Not part of some sub culture of scroungers we have to go to war against. I’m more worried about the dividend tax dodgers, accountants and the ones who put companies overseas, people like our current and former chancellor, many cabinet members in fact, many senior Tories and their preferred supply chain and a scattering of other Mp’s from other parties. I share the disgust at the expenses scamming which appears to span most parties. I’d see this as more worrying than a kid planting trees for trainer money in Salford. But the Mail and Sun readers aren’t always harping on about them. Divide and rule.
Agree, the dividend tax dodgers and expense scamming mp’s are a disgrace to society and should be brought to justice but your lop sided opinion falls down when you just regard life time cheats as some small insignificant problem, and it’s not just for trainer money, it’s thousands of pounds
In some cases aye. But in business people dodge millions. Maybe it’s not me who has the lopsided opinion. Or maybe lopsided is a good thing in this world.
Anyone agree with this ? I fundamentally don’t. Any of it. Especially the last line. Obviously we don’t want a bad economy but we’re not benefitting much now are we with more people in a job and more poverty …. . Unbelievably it’s looking like this will be worse than Boris and Co. At least he wanted to be popular. ‘ But her second statement, on redistribution, signals the direction of travel – towards a Reagan-style trickle-down economics, where fiscal policies are designed to help top earners make more money, as a way to grow the economy, with the argument being that that will benefit everyone. Asked by Kuenssberg whether it was fair that top earners would benefit more from her reversal to national insurance, Ms Truss said: “The people at the top of the income distribution pay more tax. “So inevitably when you cut taxes you tend to benefit people who are more likely to pay tax. Of course, there are some people who don’t pay tax at all. “But to look at everything through the lens of redistribution I believe is wrong because what I am about is about growing the economy. And growing the economy benefits everybody’
It has been proved trickle down economics doesn't work. It assumes that money earned by all is spent and so benefits the economy by a multiplyer of about 7 but the wealthy who benefit most have more than they need so save rather than spend so no one else benefits. The less well off can't afford to save and if they got the money they would spend which would be of more benefit to to the economy as a whole. Obviously this is a simplified generalisation but very little trickles down and in practice we see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.
Lol, probably the least arrogant person you would meet in your life. Your problem is you have a very narrow mind. I can hate scroungers and millionaire tax dodgers.
Exactly marra, why can’t certain people have a balanced open minded view, both sets mentioned are a drain on our system
The way I see it is I pay a £150 a week tax the millionaire pays no tax the scrounger lives on £150 benefits, I know which ones the biggest drain on me
And where is the press to factcheck their lies? Oops, the press have an agenda. So where is the opposition with their checks and balances? Oops, straight batter Starmer is taking an age to come to the crease... I'm still hoping he makes it
Interesting that Johnson’s analogy about kettles was in relation to investment in nuclear energy, not about peoples bills. Totally out of context. I got that from Full Fact who yes have had a field day with Johnson’s not even half truths. But the Mail Express and Sun lap it up.
