Update on the season-long punt cash outs after last night's offering...... please log in to view this image
As an eternal optimist where City are concerned, I honestly don't think our performances overall are too far off. Despite our "awful" season thus far, we are only 8 games in and are only 5 points off the play-off spots. The season is already shaping up to be another crazy one with odd results and unexpected twists and turns. Who'd have expected Reading to be riding high this early on ? The Wurzles were all Doom and Gloom after their first few games but are now flying (though personally I fully anticipate them having their usual streaky runs) and Preston continue to stay in a fairly lofty position despite only scoring twice all season!!! If you look at three of the games we didn't win, the Wurzle game, although overall they WERE the better side on the day, IF Watters puts us one up, it could have been very different. This most recent one, again, good opportunity to go one up squandered, could have been different if that goes in or if either of our shots that hit the woodwork go in... Preston we battered and did everything but score. Even the Reading game was lost to a stupidly conceded penalty and a Worldie... On another given day we could easily be sat here this weekend with an additional 5 points from that lot and we'd all be happy as Larry (who incidentally looked very relaxed outside No'10 this morning). We've had to re-shuffle and integrate new players already this season (Neils and now Robinson) whilst also losing O'Dowda from recent games, who has arguably been our most creative player to far... It'll come together, of that I'm certain. We just need to have the one thing that few fans in this day and age seem to possess... Patience.
I admire your eternal optimism and I do agree that we are probably not always getting the results we deserve. That is the problem now for Morison - to turn the arguably huge change to a better playing style into points on the board.
I'm with Brizzle on this!!!! We can't have a nice new way of playing with young players and not pay a bit for it as they settle in and gel.
I agree with everyone but you cannot win 2 games from 8 in this division, It has got to the stage now where we are desperate to win the next game anyway we can. I had faith in Morrison and these players but he has made some bad calls lately and the players have slowed from their early fast counter attacking style. Once their player got past Nkounkou not one other plyer made any effort in fact they were jogging as he scored. However a win on Saturday and we get some breathing space..
Wouldn't be so bad if it looked tidy but it looked like something you'd pick up in Primark for £15 to me
If we can win 30 games out of the remaining we will be ok Unfortunately, as it stands I'm not sure we can score a goal in 30 games, nevermind win them/ Playing Watters for the last 2 games was an act of stubbornness. he couldn't accept what everyone else knew. My heart sank when I saw him in the team Saturday. We will now see the mettle of this manager (and team) Start winning or Goodbye Mr Chips!
