Every single one of the incidents you listed, with the exception of the added on time at Liverpool, I was shouting as loud as anyone for the decision to go our way. I am biased though, as are the rest of us. Wilson foul v Brighton: The tackle on Wilson against Brighton (if you are talking about the one where we wanted a penalty) we all thought was a penalty. The majority of independent pundits said he got the ball. Schar pen v Man City: I can't understand why it wasn't given. Even the defender thought it was going to be a pen and you could see that by his body language. Longstaff pen v Wolves: Again can't understand why it wasn't given as a pen, but the referee analyst I quoted shows it was probably down to a mistake from the ref rather than VAR. It's **** but it happens. Build up to Wolves goal came from a soft as **** free kick - soft as ****, but soft as **** fouls are often given to every team. Isak level - he was level to our eyes, but under current guidance it was offside. That guidance is **** but the same for every team and even closer calls have gone against other teams. Done to death above. 8 minutes added - By the letter of the law correct. We also had time added on to the stated injury time against Wolves when we nearly scored and yesterday. Its annoying how inconsistent they are at applying this, but there does seem to be a genuine effort to be stricter with enjury time this season. Tranmere - can't comment as I was working and haven't seen the incident. We have had incidents we are annoyed about in every one of those games, but those not wearing black and white specs don't see them all as controversial and no different to incidents other teams have had.
Just wanted to remind people that not long ago after 18 months I watched a court case in which the premier league tried to succeed in hiding what went on with nufcs refused takeover amid reports 6 clubs were involved in stopping it. In that court hearing the premier league were told NO this will be played out in public. A week later the takeover went through.. Nah they wouldn't be up to no good in football.. No conspiracy theories please
Brighton i'm on about the goal Wilson scored but the ref blew before it went in, i can't remember the penalty incident. Brighton and Tranmere are the two games i haven't seen all 90 mins of so far this season.
The thing is it shouldn't be 50/50. It's against the rules. They did a segment on it on one of the youtube channels showing how often shirt pulling in the area goes unpunished, almost likes its no longer an offence. Its almost become rarer to get those given as fouls than not.
And who ultimately is going to end up paying for them and the batteries?? That’s right the ordinary football fan. Do you not think supporting a team is expensive enough already?
Even if you don't agree that all those listed were fouls or whatever what have we had go for us..the Schar non red that even pundits said wasn't a red is the closest We are due 7-8 decisions in our favour just to reset the balance, like **** that's happening, and that's why everyone is so pissed off, if we had a similar amount for and against us you can accept it but that ain't what's happening.
Yup. You could watch every corner given and prob give a penalty for holding/shirt pulling. It’s an impossible one tbh. You give a pen, and everyone by goes oh it’s soft give those and be 100s of pens a game! So you don’t give it then people go, he’s clearly holding him why isn’t it a pen.
If that, managers like newell telling them, refs telling them and just a basic understanding that corruption is inevitable when vast amounts of money are concerned then nothing ever will. Today la liga took control of its TV rights and will ban any negative comments or anyone questioning or commenting on events. All that smoke and they're litterally watching decisions only a person using braile could explain and these guys are out here living under the notion its all just 'mistakes' Yeah sure all good clean and wholesome.
I'm not criticising your passion or your anger by the way. I'm all for that and have gone overboard with it myself many times. I just don't think it helps if we start thinking its only us. I think the refereeing standards are **** for everyone (including the top 6). I remember being so angry when Chris Hughton was sacked I was trying to organise everyone on the old 606 to click on Sports Direct's paid advertising on Google just to cost Mike Ashley money. About half a dozen of us wasted a couple of hours doing that. Totally pointless in the grand scheme of things but it helped us feel better
One of the biggest myths in football is that it all evens out over a season. We had spells under Keegan where we definitely finished the season with more for us than against (though few will admit it) and many seasons since with a negative balance.
Can’t remember foul for the wolves. If it was soft…. Still a foul then. Doesn’t sound like we’re ****ed over. city one I think I remember where jumped through the player to head the ball? Rarely see em given against defenders, rightly or wrongly. 98 mins was perfectly acceptable. There’s a clip somewhere which shows Nick pope down on ground for about 94 seconds. And the corner was given almost exactly 94 seconds after the 5 mins were up. I honestly don’t get the gripe with this one. I think deep down you know that, and because of which is why not one Newcastle fan moaned that in the wolves game you played 10 mins of injury time despite only 8 being added on. Haven’t seen the clip of Wilson v Brighton. Saw a still and foot wa high in the box with players around. 50/50 but can see why was given.
It's the same with swearing at the ref. It should be a red card. They wouldn't dare do it because we'd end up with abandoned games due to too many reds when it was first implemented. They'd get the message eventually but they won't go through that initial pain because it would piss off the TV companies.
The most annoying thing about all this is that we seemed to get loads of var calls IN our favour under ****ing cabbage heed, the one time we weren't arsed about getting them we got them, it's like the powers that be wanted him to stay as our manager. Oh well, at least it helped us stay up and get the takeover i suppose.
Lee Mason and Andre Mariner. Two referees who have consistently been pulled up by Keith Hackett for being hopeless. It is telling that not a single English official is in FIFA's VAR list.
