Where do you get bivvy bags? I've learned that trick with the socks the hard way. Done surveys in a field in Tranent on ****ing horrendous days <laugh>

cancer research is the main winner from our grown up behaviour, which is fine by me <ok> I'll get a donation posted on yours when I can <ok>

yeah. not sure how feesable it is, i'm pretty sore in training and i've only gone up to 30m or so. there's a good chance that going for 100m something will just pop. the theory is you can walk at a steady pace and do it in 32 hours, chuck in 10 hours of breaks and that you at 42 but i think we'd end up just under. last time a couple of us spoke about it it looked like we might get some support (my mates brother in a van) who'd meet us every 20m or so and replen water/food/socks/foot powder etc meaning you only really need water and wet gear. if this doesnt happen but you go in pairs you only need a sleeping bag and a bivvy bag split between the two of you and you can share <ok> the WHW pretty well marked so its unlikely you'll get lost

Was thinking about the head torch but I'll look a prized tit, then there's the prospect of the west highland supermidge that can probably survive winter.

Think the start time on the page was 10am but can do it earlier as I'm driving up the night before <ok>

    Sounds like a plan stan.

Nah you're alright tommy, it'll just bring back bad memories of the Somme for you. Wouldnt like to do that to you. Feel free to join us at the finish line and you can refill my hipflask with whisky <ok>

walking poles is another good shout, you can usually get them cheap as out of lidl or somewhere and they take pressure off your legs big time. i'm training without them at the moment but they will be a godsend when it comes down to it <ok>

you'll look like a dick but on the plus side you're in the middle of ****ing nowhere so you could do most of it in a mankini and no one would know about it<ok> and do you really want to be pointing a torch in front of you for 11 hours?

this is going to be terrible <laugh>

    **** the walking poles.
An old brush handle will do just fine.
You should be OK midge wise, a bit too earl in the year for them, and anyway, they'd all get caught up in ML's hair and never escape. <perm>
