    November
    Sat 5 A Coventry City
    Sat 19 H Brighton
    Sat 26 A Bristol City
    Tue 29 H Hull City

    December
    Sat 3 A Doncaster
    Sat 10 H Blackpool
    Sun 18 A Portsmouth
    Mon 26 H Crystal Palace
    Fri 30 H Bristol City

These are our next 9 games.. 27 points available.. where here can you see us dropping points?? Obviously I think as much as the next man we will drop a few points over the next month or two but injuries aside I can see us dropping that many!

To put them into purspective if we win all these we will be on 60 points from 24 games come January and 90 points would more than likely see you automatically promoted.. so we would require 30 points from 22 games!!

    Exciting times

At present rate we would be on 101 at end of season..which leaves room for the inevitable dropped points. I believe! I believe!

When I was doing the BBC Predictor the other day, I found I had to go back and edit it, because I was finding it so difficult to find anyone who might beat us, that I put in a token loss and draw here and there. We still were 3 points clear come Jan 1st though. Obviously, some difficult games to come in the second half of the season.

Not only do we have to lose, remember 2 of the opposition have to win their games. Auto is well on target.

I reckon we'll fluctuate from 2-5 points ahead of second from now until Jan, perhaps slipping into dwindle once or twice after that, but ultimately (providing we buy in Jan) I think automatic is achievable.

But it's not just looking at a paper fixture list, it's playing the matches on the pitch, n'est-ce pas? It's not Fantasy football, it's real life where teams gain and lose form, injuries happen, players come and go .......

Which was why Saints were 3 points clear even when I docked them points on the Predictor. And I was being kind to the others too.

It's scary therefore that Reading's record is 106. I'd say we've had a pretty darn good first 1/3 of the season, but trebled up we only reach sort of 100 or 101 as you say. How blooming good were Reading that year!!

On a side note, in setting that record Reading also set another record - the highest amount of points ever achieved at home. 60. Now whilst that is also a sensational feat (after all 23 x 3 = 69, so they only dropped 9 home points all season!), we obviously haven't dropped a single point at home yet. So whilst I don't think we have one iota of a chance of beating Reading's total of 106, their 60 at home could yet turn out to be a target to strive for.

Fantastic records set by Reading. I agree, the total points is a tough one to beat, however the home points record certainly could be. Our home form is fantastic, it's perfection, but our away form doesn't match it as we've won 3 out of 7 on the road.

    November
    Sat 5 A Coventry City D 1pt
    Sat 1 H Brighton W 3pts
    Sat 26 A Bristol City W 3pts
Tue 29 H Hull City D 1pt (I think this may be the game when the proud home record of wins ends)

    December
    Sat 3 A Doncaster W 3pts
    Sat 10 H Blackpool W 3pts
Sun 18 A Portsmouth D/L 1 or 0pts...(a lot depends on how the team handles the volatile atmosphere)
    Mon 26 H Crystal Palace W 3pts
    Fri 30 H Bristol City W 3pts

Total 20/21pts and stretching our lead at the top as promotion rivals continue to drop points to each other.

It's not even that. Just 2 out of 7. (draws vs Reading, Derby & Burnley, defeats vs Cardiff & Leciester).

That said, I'm confident win no.3 will arrive this weekend.

Donny away will be a draw or loss - same as WHU drew with Bristol - must win games usually = slip up. Although Adkins has installed a haven't won till the final whistle mentality in the player where as with Pardew it was a case of the three points being our right not earning it.

    I think:

    November
    Sat 5 A Coventry City - W 3pt
    Sat 19 H Brighton - W 3pt
    Sat 26 A Bristol City - D 1pt
    Tue 29 H Hull City - W 3pts

    December
    Sat 3 A Doncaster - D 1pt
    Sat 10 H Blackpool - W 3pt
    Sun 18 A Portsmouth - D 1pt
    Mon 26 H Crystal Palace - W 3pts
    Fri 30 H Bristol City - W 3pts

    Total = 21 pts

Sorry, I keep thinking there's another win in there somewhere! Wishful thinking I reckon! It's no secret that our home form is the reason why we're top of the league though.

You won't catch me counting any poultry. Let's deal with Coventry first, we can worry about how many points we have in January, in January. I would go on but I need to top up my half empty glass.

I can see the Brighton game being a real banana skin, I don't know why, I just have that feeling...

I've given us 19 points, but that's being quite negative

You're not the only one. I've got that down as the end of our winning run at home.

Then again, I also had Leeds, Forest and West Ham all down as the end of winning run at home!

The old saints where as soon as anything good happens we manage to reck it has gone, what you all must see now is what Adkins has installed in the team. He has given them spirit, togetherness, and most of all belief that even if things don't go their way in the game they are still taking the points, looking at the 9 games listed we should take at least 75-80% of the points and if we don't it will be our fault. We are the best team in the league and if we play like we can, last night excluded then we will take nearly all the points!!!
