I don’t think there’s a limit on squad size in the championship, just certain criteria that has to be met for match day squad.
That is totally wrong. 25 man squad, excluding U21 players who don’t need to be registered. That excludes loans, who need to be registered in the 25 man squad no matter their age.
I think you have to be 20 at the start of the year so Sayyadmanesh doesn;t count but Greaves and Longman do. Imagine Smith will be registered but Cannon and Williams miss out
This all sort of underlines a point I made a couple weeks back about any sort of strategy seemingly flying out the window and just taking a gung ho approach to signing players just because they’re available. It’s poor to end up with so many players that cannot be registered. Both from a football perspective and a business/financial perspective. It’s a little concerning to say the least. And to think there are people on here seriously claiming we needed more
To be fair I think the plan was to offload the players who won't be registered, but due to the injury list they're needed for the immediate future.
If we’d never had the injury crisis, Cannon, Williams etc would’ve all gone. According to Baz we are going to try and ship them all abroad
The two Chelsea loanies you struggle to see how they will fit in with a fully fit squad, unnecessary signings in the grand scheme of things when two senior players who have been making appearances both last season and this will now have to go unregistered? Can’t be good for squad harmony.
What countries can still sign players? Can see us using our Turkish links to try and shift them but not sure if they're good enough
Vale is one of the best young prospects in the country, if he adapts to to the mens game he'll be heavily involved.
25-man squad would have to exclude Emmanuel, Cannon, T. Smith, Williams, Scott, C. Jones and Jacob to make way for the new signings.
They can’t by the laws of the game, I think. Only u21 is Lo-Tutala. The rest are over 21 and loanees count towards the 25 regardless of age. EDIT: I think Allahyar is classed as under-21 as he was born after 1st January 2001, which is the cutoff. So there may be room for Tyler Smith.
