Off Topic Non-Sunderland games

I was a bit apprehensive about this season tbh but I've seen absolutely nothing for us to fear. The way we have started has been fantastic and we could (should) have had a few more points in the bank already. I've liked what I've heard from Mowbray so far as well so roll on Monday - Boro haven't had the best of starts so let's ****ing give them a going over live on tele.

That's an unbelievable move but an absolutely horrific finish from Walker.

 

It's scary to think that in the games I've watched City, Foden has done a similar thing twice as well - all 3 were tap is for Haaland. He could be on an even more ridiculous number of goals so far.

 

Quite a few of Haalands goals are tap ins, he doesn't just do the spectacular stuff, got a whiff of Linekar in the box. Always in the right place. Could get 40 PL goals this season no probs

 

Reckon Gerrard might be early to the exit door. His number 2 (can’t remember his name) was the guy who made his teams tick and he’s gone to QPR and Gerrard is struggling. Bit like the Martin O’Neill times

 

His new no2 was the Blackpool gaffer iirc but left that job to be Gerrards assistant. There was a bit of a carry on with Mings in pre season, I don't think all is well behind the scenes at Villa tbh.

 

He can't be far away from coming under serious pressure. They reinvested all of the Grealish money last season and he's been backed like a club with top 10 ambitions this summer, yet it's still completely unclear how they play, what formation, what style and what their strongest team is. Gerrard isn't an inexperienced manager, he's basically managed as many games as Patrick Vieira and about 100 more than Mikel Arteta or Bruno Lage, all of whom I'd say are comfortably better than him.

Agreed. He did well at Rangers in a season where Celtic weren’t firing. But this season is showing him up. That said they’ve come a little more into the game last few minutes. Gone from 76/24 to 72/28 possession!!

You can literally guarantee, if that happens against them they don’t say “we got lucky”. They say “ Definitely a foul”! Look at the disallowed goal for a nudge at the other end of the field against them recently. Might have been a push, but the same thing happened in the same game (wolves I believe) by a Newcastle defender around their own box after the disallowed goal and nothing was given. They haven’t complaiabout that.

 

Rumours were that Chelsea bid £70m for him last week and got knocked back.

 

Most clubs do this, but the way they've created a victim mentality and talk about "conspiracies" so frequently is embarrassing. Worse than I've seen even from Liverpool and Man Utd fans.
