Passing it about between the two centre backs and fab to up the possession stats, then humping it long is not the same as control.

I'm excited by that line up.

Carvalho has impressed so far, I hope he can take it forward to the full 90 minutes

Should make our midfield more mobile.

Very attacking. What minute does Nunez get sent off?

He learnt his lesson already, though Everton player will try to wind him up. He is going to keep his cool.

Again if we can pen them in, exert some sort of control, the press becomes easier, which will stop any sort of accurate long ball to the fast lads, I'm confident if they have to lump it from defence under pressure vvd and joe can sweep up.

If they have time to get it into midfield and pick that pass then we are in trouble.

I assume Maupay and Gray will be the other way around.

We should avoid conceding the first goal as they are going to put eleven men behind the ball.

Very surprised we've gone with Carvalho over Milner but creativity is key today

From Klopp; Carvalho over Milner because James cam play multiple positions (and not so much 90mins) so gives us options from tbe bench

The issue is they want us to pen them in.

They want fabinho gone running. They want the 2 wingers playing cm up the park.

They will isolate gomez and try run beyond on office or just get the foul.

Our issue is this if we do not win that first ball. (See trent v palace, then fabinho and Zaha is in)

That's exactly what everton will want. We have to hit thr player the second pickshite lumps it. Don't let it bounce. Win it or foul.

If we let player run we will lose

    Fair enough.

I thought it was also interesting in the press conference that klopp said now jota is back he has 5 forwards

    Not 6.

That says to me klopp sees carvalho as a midfielder more than wide forward.

Fabinho singled out Milner as the one who drove them to keep going right to the end at Newcastle. Time for Fab to take over that role today maybe.

Bt already hyping up that it's fine to kick lumps out of our side like it's normal to allow 1970s football breakout in this one game of the season.

Maybe klopp is saving milner to come on and sort out everton.

Or maybe he's taken off all the others likely to see red cos nunez is a huge risk. Milner amd robbo out... no bite in our side bar fabinho.

If the ref pulls a yellow on fab for nothing today ee will know he's bent as **** cos everton will be kicking lumps left and right.

In fact wants the bet on first everton player to fake head injury? Tarkowski, coady or gordan?

    I'm calling gordan

Yeah, Virgil will be captain today but he's a bit further back - I think a midfielder is in the best position to keep on at those around him.

Don't mind midfielders doing it but prefer CBs to do it; can see everything in front of them and close enough to the action to influence it.

Ideally, you have more than one anyway
