They wouldn’t have been able to assess the injury. I cycled 350km on my turbo trainer in 10 days with a torn MCL, ACL, LCL and Meniscus. Had no idea the injury was that bad until I’d had an MRI scan.
Has a team ever had such a bad injury crisis as we're having now? I know Covil won't exactly be the biggest miss, but this stands as one of, if not the worst injury crisis I've ever experienced in 29 years of supporting City.
I find it surprising how often this sort of thing seems to happen. He was pounding the turf in frustration after he went down with it the second time. He seemed to know. Most people watching must have been thinking that's probably an ACL then. But then he walks off like it's not that had and then Shota says after the game it's probably not serious. Then it turns out probably is. Weird.
It's crazy. People will say that the likes of Scott, Covil or Docherty aren't the biggest losses, and in isolation they wouldn't be. But with the other injuries, all 3 would be playing a part right now if they were fit. It's not just the fact that some of our best players are injured, it's that their replacements are injured too, and in some cases the replacements' replacements...
Yeah, it's not as though it's just the odd one, it's literally a whole teams worth of players out. Docherty and Scott you would at least back to have some impact too, it's so frustrating.
i think covil would have turned out to be an astute signing, had some big potential, lightweight but he'd gain massively from first few months of season a acl or other long term injury probably means he probably won't get a new deal unfortunately
Coyle is available for Sunday. Seri and Tufan have trained this week and a decision will be made on them tomorrow (both want to play, but may not be risked). Everyone else is still out, though Sinik is about to return to full training.
Grant isn't happy about Cartwright's fitness. He had a thigh injury in pre season, got fit, pulled up in training and he is now injured again with the same injury. Says he wants to speak to City about it.
