He's the guy who has already been capped and scored for Italy at full international level, so definitely of a higher standing than any other young player that we have ever signed
Gnonto - There are plenty I’d have preferred ahead of him, there are plenty I’d have not wanted in the slightest. I don’t see why we had to let James go to get this deal done but in saying that I’d prefer seeing Gnonto start up front over James. James wasn’t going to replace Harrison and we have Summerville. We should have done better, we could have got a lot worse. It really depends on how near to being ready he really is
One tweet made me smile, “we’ve gone from trying to sign a first team striker to a 5’ 2 looking school kid”
**Please Bookmark** Reminder To Self - Don’t get excited or build your hopes up next transfer window, don’t bother reading the rumours thread, we’re not after anyone. We’re broke and nobody wants to join us anyway
Just copy and paste the last one, it’s the same old names every time, even Ryan Kent’s name appeared again today on one click bait site
So now the dust has settled on the over-hyped final day deals of the window, no more relevant than transfers on any other window day and certainly less helpful to the team than those occurring near the beginning of the window, where are we? Overall I would say better balanced than last season, more 1st team depth. We are still lacking strikers, Paddy is fine if he stays fit and gains match fitness but I'm not sure that Joffy is going to make it, sacrilege, I know, he puts in the effort and causes a change of tempo but for me just isn't going to be a star. The negative is Rodrigo getting injured, is it possible that Sonny, Joe or Willy could make the step up. Then there is the LB, again it's sacrilege, but I don't think Firpo is too bad, ok not going to be a star but with Struijk doing OK and Dallas coming back hopefully before too long we aren't badly placed. The new recruits seem to be fine and provide more options for Jesse than the two rather expensive ex players. If we remain in the upper half of the league until the World Cup kicks off I'll be happy, even a little surprised. After the World Cup are we going to have any prima donnas on our hands, are any of our team going to make it into a world cup squad and star on the world stage?
He seems, how can I say this..... a little more robust than some of our other U21's, from what I've seen on videos, so perhaps a 15 - 20 minute impact sub?
You mean the Italy side that can’t qualify for the WC, oh please don’t quote the Euro’s they beat a team in the final who manager couldn’t pick his nose. Something not right here or within the boardroom, JM has the last day, we’ll I hope so who goes, who he wants etc. if he is a puppet then we are in a bad place, a really bad place, as for James I personally have never rated him.
Still in shock about James with no replacement. We have lost 8 goal contributions from last season without replacing them, as much as people don’t like James he got more assists than Harrison and Raphinha last season. We have Summerville but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he can do it in the PL, looks very lightweight. U23s is miles off PL standard. So now we’ve got 1 injured striker with 2 unfit strikers and U21s. Good job we have 5 subs as we might have to give 30 minutes to 3 different strikers.
