Great show…and then Kevin Spacey had to go and spoil it. Last series wasn’t a patch on the rest.

The Wire is still untouchable for a long series and character development.

Just watched we own this city, canny 6 partner, similar aspects tot he wire but based on real events.

I hate it when they finish and you have to look for something else.

I have struggled to get back in to it, I always feel like I'm going what happened last season again. Need to watch it though.

I have watched a couple of nordic thrillers recently.

The chestnut man and the valhalla murders. Both worth a watch if anyone likes those police detective after a seriel killer shows.

Aye when the really good ones finish they do leave a void if that's not being too dramatic haha. I might rewatch Mr Inbetween again to get over it.

I've heard those are both good, I'll give them a try in the winter always feels like the right time for these bleak dramas.

I'd say BCS started and ended strongly and wasn't quite as gripping in the middle, still great quality but I didn't like the storylines as much. The last series was absolutely superb though, well worth sticking it out.

At, or at least very near the top is, Yes Minister/ Yes Prime Minister.

And today, when we are promised, (threatened with), the name of our new Prime Minister I'm remembering on of my favourite episodes, and a gem.

Sir Humphrey, Cabinet Secretary, is discussing with Sir Arnold, his now retired predecessor, who should be the next PM, the current one having announced that he is retiring.

Sir Humphrey has suggested some names,
Sir Arnold ponders for a short while.
U'mm, it's a difficult one, he says. It's like deciding which lunatic to put in charge of the Asylum.

    --------------

Many a true word spoken in jest.

I really wanted to like Better Call Saul because I loved Breaking Bad but I just couldn't get going with it. Always meant to try it again but I think that ship has probably sailed now- I didn't realise they'd done that many series.

For pure nostalgia ITV3 are showing reruns of Heartbeat...easy to watch family viewing, spent many hours on that part of the NY moors, and railway, not to forget Whitby.
We've often said were going to book a couple of nights in the Aidensfield Inn and never have, times ticking....
No monsters, gangsters, swearing etc which seem to dominate tele these days.

Understandable, obviously they are similar shows but it doesn't follow that if you like one you have to like the other.

Be interesting to see what Vince Gilligan does next, think he wants to make something along the lines of X-Files/Twilight Zone.

I've been watching "The Offer" on Paramount. It's about Producer Al Ruddy wanting to turn a Mafi novel into a film. It has Miles Teller, he plays Al. Shows all the issues that came he faced about them not wanting to have the film made from the Mob, Government and the Italian people. Some if the actors in it are very good. Justin Chambers (Grays anatomy) Marlon Brando and he is class. Joe Colombo is played by the lad that played Frank Jr in Friends. Very funny at times even though its supposed to be serious. As they shoot some of the most famous scenes of the Godffather, the show concentrates on what they're doing behind the camera. We'll well worth a watch.. 10 episodes.

I've just watched the first series of Yellowstone. I've really enjoyed it, though I'm not sure how much of that is purely Kelly Reilly.

Not a likeable character among them though, which always makes for a fun dynamic. Costner is good as the head of the dysfunctional family with the largest ranch in Montana, but I'm hoping he's an even bigger bastard in the second series.

Definitely worth a watch I'd say, probably a western in style though it's modern day.

I always want to watch this but I don't think it's available on anything I pay for. Looks decent in the clips I see.

Talking of westerns 'Godless' is a good watch on Netflix.

Aye, I'm watching it via other means, though it's advertised as being on Paramount + and you can get a free months subscription to that, so maybe you could binge a series or 2 for free and then decide if it's worth subscribing for a couple of months until you've seen them all.

My other means is a bit rubbish, I enjoyed Star Trek Discovery when it was netflix but it went elsewhere for series 3 and had to give up two episodes in as the stream was unreliable.

I have been tempted by paramount but as it stands I pay for netflix, disney, prime, amazon music and audible. Can't add anymore!
