Artur Melo is recovering from a bad injury so they are happy to let him come to us to get back up to match fitness. I don't think he has played for them this season but managed 32 games last season. With our midfield any signing must be of help.
Well, we are looking at contracts being run down and them off for nothing next Summer, we will see if anyone wants them then. I don’t expect much contribution from either this season
All the money Chelsea have spent this summer, they must have broken some kind of ffp rule. They've only shifted Werner for money and that wasn't alot.
I honestly don't get why Dubravka has moved, On loan, to ManU. Why go from being 2nd choice behind Pope to being 2nd choice behind De Gea. I'd understand if he'd moved on a permanent deal and got a bigger wage. But he is literally being paid the same money to sit on a bench in Manchester rather than Newcastle.
Hoping to play in the Europa League? Maybe hoping to become number one if he can play Ten Hag's style better?
They were "debt free" after their sale. I cannot see.how the club has not broken a few rules here but who knows. It won't be long will they are home to their necks in debt again
All the money spent is over long term contracts. Fofana and Cucurella were given 7 year deals. Helps get round ffp
Arthur is at lfc training ground. So should be all sorted baring any last minute hiccups. Low expectations but hope everyone gets behind him and he makes an impact.
Hmmmm not sure how that works as accounting for writing off the value of the player is not the same as servicing the debt (who knows ows what terms were on any of these deals) These go on different parts of the accounts. The amortisation people love to talk about is one thing but there is also money due to creditors so let's see how ffp balances this.
There's no reason why not. I've never seen us move quick on deadline day. What was it last time that ran out of time? This is a loan. If he's not doing to drop dead and has clean scan records we should be well able to take the player and pay the amount of his wage we are agreeing to. According to the sources there were 3 clubs in and he wanted the best one to try get to Brazil squad. So thinking positively its nice to not be the last resort for players.
He's got a motivation for the first half of the season at least. Here's hoping he comes in and does well.
Who knows. No obligation to buy really suggests our thinking here. Klopp loans are quite rare. This is the third loan in 7 years? He's not gone back for kabak so it looms like we don't think this goes anywhere else. Best case he's absolutely brilliant and shocks us all. Most likely he will be a useful squad option to rest thiago Worst case he's paid a wage and just sits on bench or treatment table. I think we will have to get him fit and that's going to take time so realistically we have to expect that. Alisson fabinho and firmino know the guy so he should settle in no issue.
From what I can remember about him, he's more of a Gini/Hendo type player. Solid and will do the dirty work when needed, but can find a pass when needed.
Online pundits are all comparing him to Thiago. Likes to hold the ball but good with a pass. Doesn't contribute to goal tally much but good just to control pace of game.
tbh my view is based on when they were talking about him leaving Brazil and ended up at Barca, so that was some time ago. He's probably changed as a player since then.
