Of course we’ll smash them. They are currently one of the poorest teams in the league. I would expect at least 3-0 to us despite some early desperate defending from them. Once the first goal goes in, they won’t get back. They’ve scored the first goal in at least 2 matches but then tried to shut up shop.

We have to win this to stay in touch with the league leaders. Who cares what happens to Frank Lampard?.

Even the absolute state of the game he served up at anfield last season including disgusting baiting of players and faking serious head injuries I'd be quite happy to see him sacked after we hammer them

We won't but I'd.love to get another manager the sack.

That didn't stop Bloody United beating us. I won't feel comfortable with ANY opposition until we start winning again... Frequently

Be nice if we don’t concede first goal again. When we don’t concede first we win comfortably (9-0). Think it’s 9 in last 10 games we’ve conceded first. Becoming a very worrying trend and makes things 10 times harder.

I'm going 1-2 again. Everton to score first half. Us to score twice in second half after 13 mins of stoppage time. :bandit:

    Nah, the wins follow performance.

We absolutely scraped a win there but were awful. Its alright that they kept trying and all that but the slowness of play and lack of running are at the heart of the issues.

We need to see the performance. Results follow that.

No confidence in vvd or gomez defending. Vvd looms well off where he was from last January to May. Gomez just looks very very get-at-able and we look like throwing goals in on the break against anyone with a bit of pace to run in.

No confidence in full backs creating cos they are not high and wide.

No confidence in midfield cos they are not putting challenges in and are not passing forward enough.

No confidence in forwards as they are in bad positions to start with amd are not threatening sides enough.

    1. Full backs must push on wide not central (is this another lenders brainwave) and get high up again.

    2. Cms need to work harder. I'd be happy if Arthur or thiago now sit alongside fabinho and enable the fullbacks to go on

    3. Get Diaz and salah much higher and narrower. Inside the fullback ot outside the fullback amd running beyond firmino.

    4. Being nunez in off bench to change it up.

Either way. We've won two on the bounce but I still feel uneasy.

Everton have made some (for the purpose of this game anyway) interesting signings.

I'm expecting a physical midfield battle so I'm in two minds about Arthur in this match - it might not be the best game for him to start, but on the other hand you'd expect Everton to sit deep, and it's clear that we've been lacking an accurate passer in those type of games

I think it was the riot after they won.

by the look if it there was a wee bit more of a crowd than the capacity strictly allowed.

maybe we should let everton play 13 players to try even it up.

Well... given they have 12 already with the ref indulging their time wasting.

The crowd employing a flat-cap testudo formation there, presumably to ward off the middle-classes.
