The manager come tactician has to work on people like Joffy, lift the ball over keeper’s, smash it hard etc. Joffy has not convinced me yet.
Extremely frustrating when you see a side start to waste time 10 minutes in, and I’m possibly being generous to Lampard’s lot. We still struggle against teams that sit back and it was a hard watch in the first half. Agree Llorente is a major worry at times, I also thought Adams was pick of our players, just a touch in front of Roca and Struijk. Hate that we didn’t win the game but we’ve collected the number of points I had predicted after 5 games, so shouldn’t be too disappointed. But I am.
If I go to the pub and Everton are playing Wolves, think I'll ask if we could have the cricket on instead. Would be more thrilling.
Morning bud. Thought all of the midfield was decent. Adams was very good defensively and kept the ball moving. Everton parked the bus and I actually thought out of our midfield trio that Roca was the one trying to play through the lines more than Adams and Aaronson. Didn't always work for Roca but he was the one taking the riskier pass which is what we needed. Harrison was double marked alot but still looked the most likely to win a corner or get a cross in. On the other side Sinisterra was starved of the ball a bit but when he did get it he looked like something was going to happen. Rodrigo and Gelhardt got no change out of the Everton backline and I though the defenders and keeper were wobbly at best with Llorente a complete liability. Struijk did OK. Mesliers kicking was poor but he was given the ball on his wrong foot for no particular reason on at least three occasions by Llorente and once by Koch. Almost like they don't like him.
Morning all This morning, the draw and dropped two points feels more annoying the following day than the Brighton defeat did
Fair comments fella. Sinisterra didn’t get on the ball enough, but he looked after it well when he did. Made some good passes including the one where rod picked up his injury. Looks a talent.
Morning all. Reflecting on the game I think we could have won but we definitely could have lost it so better a point than nothing. Lampard is playing to his strengths. He has Gordon and Gray who can nick something up front, he has Onana and Iwobi in MF who are big, hard working lumps who are comfortable on the ball and he has possibly one of the best defences in the PL if you include Pickford. He set them up narrow to crowd our MF and make them very difficult to break down. I think Liverpool will also struggle to break them down the way they play. I would absolutely hate to watch that **** every week but I think they'll nick points from the top sides. The problem they may have is when they have to break down an opponent. I don't think Maupay is going to be the striker they think he'll be. Sinisterra comes inside whereas Harrison stays wide. It meant that they could stay compact when Sini had the ball but Harrison pulled 2 players out to him. We really needed to stretch them to give a bit of space in the middle. In the next few weeks we'll have Ayling, Rasmus, Koch, Llorente, Cooper, Struijk, Hjelde and Firpo available so we'll be able to change the back line but we have to remember that the way we play leaves our CB very exposed. Looking at Meslier's kicking maybe that's why Bielsa wanted him to play it short. I thought Adams and Roca were superb. They were in a war last night. I bet Adams covered a lot of KM. We're not missing KP
When he’s fit he goes straight back in to partner Koch. Miss his leadership and Llorente is actually more of a scary defender than Cooper. I don’t think we concede that first goal with Cooper in Llorente’s position.
We now know why Tarkowski was happy to go there, because of Frank 'Dyche' Lampard,he wouldn't need to learn a new system.
In cheating yes. Another weak ref, book that prick pickford early on and that would have sorted him out.
My fault for telling him to shoot, but as I was in row H to the right of the goal, he missed me by miles.
How are we doing First 5 games on a like for like basis we have 8pts v 3 pts = +5 Lose to Brentford and it becomes 8pts v 6pts = +2 Game after is Forest no direct comparison however we averaged 2.66 points from the demoted teams last season so in my mind we need to take 5.66pts from Brentford and Forest games to keep in front The next 3 games which takes us up to the proverbial 10 we amassed 1pt Let’s assume we take 1pt from Brentford and 1pt from Forest and just like for like with the other 3 games will give us 11pts to 9.66 last year also. 11/10 = 1.1pts per game = projected season points of 41.1 I know clear as mud but I know what I mean
We are two points ahead of where I expected us to be, which means is everything else remains as I predicted, we will end up on 46 points instead of the 44 I expect. Think I said in a previous posts, possibly not long after the victory over Chelsea, that I wasn't expecting us to get to 7 points until after the Brentford game, which I have down as a draw, so whilst only getting a point in the Everton game is disappointing, the fact that we got 5 more points than I expected from the Wolves and Chelsea games, leave me in the doing ok, with room for improvement camp
