NP said, on Humberside interview, that Basso was suffering from this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tendinitis Check out 'Treatment'!!! Also - listen to NP here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15548873.stm
If Basso doesnt get through we have to give Gulacsi backing and not get on his back for any little missed kick or bad throw or dropped catch as that is hardly going to give him any confidence.
adamisme, I believe you follow the path of Judaism? And I believe their religous day is Friday? (Or at least they wear those little hats on Fridays). Do your best mate, pray for us all you can, we'll need it if Goulash is starting in goal for us, Cole and Carew will make a right stew out of him...
Don't get me wrong i am even more nervous and the way he lined up the wall for the killer goal was abysmal, and yes i was there. But the thing for me is us jeering and boo'ing him does nothing than deflate his confidence.
Of course, I would never do that to Hull City player. But, I cant help but be nervous for Saturday now that I know Basso could well be out for the game!
If you judged solely on that game, none of the back 5 would ever play for us again. We were wretched defensively that night and the midfield offered sod all protection. Basso is obviously the safer bet at the moment but Gulacsi isn't terrible, he'd do OK if we defend properly.
Why doesn't he look right? He scored last night, he had a good penalty saved, IMO he was one of the outstanding performers at Forest, tirelessly running and closing down the defenders and was unlucky not to score more last night. One team will get absolutely mauled sometime soon, and I can't wait.
Im not judging him on that game alone, I was refering to being nervous about him, and you cant help but be nervous after the performance he put in at Leeds, he dropped almost everything that came at him.
Just doesn't look the player he did when he first joined us! I think Waghorn offers more but maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Matty!
Agreed completely, Gulacsi played 3 full games for us and had one very good, one very poor and one average game. Since then he's had to come on twice and has done everything required both times. You can't just give up on Gulacsi completely just because of one game. Interesting to hear that NP interview. He says it defeinitely was a penalty and we would have had one a couple of minutes before had Dudgeon not been so 'honest'. Not sure what he meant by that but I guess it was the goalmouth scramble where Dudgeon flew into the box and nearly scored twice. Also, isn't Tendinitis what ****ed up Owen Hargreaves' career?
I don't think you're being overly harsh. He's not played poorly but he's not looked like the player we first signed, he is getting goals though so he can't be doing too much wrong. Maybe it's just the way he can look a bit uninterested when he's not involved, he's been getting some stick from the nobheads i sit near too recently.
He certianly looked a lot better then he has at the beginning of the season in recent games, he looked unfit, but now he doesn't he's getting there and could of had a hat trick last night. He will score past West Ham im sure. We will turn them over! As for Gulacsi, I'm not righting him off completely but you have to say he's looked dodgey, you cant get away from that, not to mention Basso has just been in the team of the week, he's not in there for nothing, he has been out standing. Will be a lot different if he's not in the team
So ! Surely he's got over the leeds game by now, I was watching him in training and he looked very sharp and fit.
