We were a nation of slave purchasers and traders, never a nation that created slaves by attacking others and capturing them,

Does it make us any better, not really but we were doing what (at the time) was acceptable by purchasing other human beings from their captors to do the ****ty work for us.

****ing disgraceful and as we now accept inhuman but as i said, "the done thing at the time". We probably wouldn't have done it if there weren't humans to purchase but i have wondered sometimes if those slaves had a longer/better life than they would have if they had been left in the hands of their captors.
