i think those people who are going on about us signing young lads need to remember that cirkin only had his first season of first team football last season and yet here he is a solid regular in the side...i still feel a little more experience in there would not go amiss but the squad is 'designed' to grow together i think and so far the results are proving the recruitment team and the 'project' to be correct.

I agree. Once he got going last season he was very good, and he's kept it up.

Too late to accept any now no time to get replacements in (any replacement, never mind of the same quality)

That's what I'm telling myself anyway

I don’t want him left back. I thought he struggled defensively there last season. He may have improved there but he’s been superb on the left of a 3

He never looked like a League One player. And after that night at Hillsborough, when he grew up in front of our eyes he's really come on.

Tonight he didn't look like a Championship player. Hope no one is bloody watching!

Been a bit daft twice this season and should’ve seen red both times!! So maybe he’s a bit daft, but also lucky with it which is a good combination!!!!)

Well City won't be selling Haaland, so unless Barca need to free up some cash again by letting Lewandowski go, there's no-one of similar quality available.

Yeah I agree he should have seen red for both so maybe he's got the ability to get away with it, some players do. I think part of his instructions are to put in an early reducer or two and sometimes he mistimes it.

I don't think he's putting in these straight red challenges because he's lost his temper I think it's calculated but not executed well.

Just got in the house and still buzzing.

Could wax lyrical about that, we just didn't look on trouble. Some brilliant tackles and intensity.

Really wanted Simms to score as he deserved it for his movement, he's a work in progress but you can see the player in him.

The 4 new signing coming on the pitch at half time was a good touch, gets you thinking that of they are as good as hope then we are getting a solid squad together.

Did anyone notice when we got the second Baath went back to Patto and seemed to praise him and encourage him

    Well that was thoroughly enjoyable.

We started off brightly, created a couple of opportunities but failed to hit the target. We were very much on the front foot. They rode the pressure and then started to come into it a bit, Wiles and Barlaser started to pick up a lot of second balls and they got a couple of strikes away but nothing too telling. We're still a threat, great work from Gooch and Stewarts effort is cleared off the line, not another Saturday surely?! A few more where you feel we need to hit the target and its a panic that we may rue missed chances.

Second half I anticpated they'd come at us a bit more but in truth we didn't give them a kick. Great work on the left from Clarke and the pull back gifts Rosco another chance which rattles the net. Lift off. Class to see we kept at them and didn't let off the pressure, Stewart is down and comes back on the field to attack the back post, its another class ball with the outside of his foot from Clarke and Stewart finds the net. The third is a moment of real individual quality from Jack Clarke, we know he can travel with the ball but that was sheer class. Ghosted past god knows how many yellow shirts and slots it in the bottom corner.

We kept control of the ball and managed the game well, the passing was crisp and we limited Rotherham to very little. So encouraging given they did us 5-1 at their place and then we scraped a draw at home thanks to a OG, they deserved to win both games last season but now we're a different animal. That was a really comprehensive win and if I'm honest, given our past displays at home its been coming.

Performances? Pretty much complete right across the team tonight. Gooch stood out first half, he created plenty off the right. Shout out for his crunching tackle on the bye-line in the second half, you love to see it. Jack Clarke was sensational second being involved in all three goals and Rosco of course for bagging a brace. In truth I could go through them all and dish praise out tonight because we were brilliant.

This season will have highs and lows but I tell you what, theres plenty to admire about this group of lads!

Enjoy your night lads and lasses, I'm sitting with a cold bottle of beer taking every little bit of tonights match in all over again!
