that's the exact reason i came to be acquainted with the said establishment. I was working in Llandudno. Me and my chums we woulkd catch the train to Wigan for the all nighters. We had to change at Bank Quay and had about an hour or so wait for the connection, so we used to pile into the Patten. They did have a good Juke Box in there I recall, and one time the landlord put on "northern" night in there for us and others that amassed in there waiting for that damn train.
