After beating Bournemouth 9:0 at Anfield we are at home to Newcastle on Wednesday. Newcastle has got some injury crisis about four of their key players are unlikely to play tomorrow. Newcastle gave the champion a tough time at St James Park, so I am not expecting easy game. However I am going for Liverpool win. Liverpool 2:0 Newcastle. CHRIS SUTTON HAS GONE FOR COMFORTABLE HOME WIN 4:0. Liverpool v Newcastle (20:00) We all think Liverpool are back following that big 9-0 win but Newcastle are a dangerous team. However, they are missing Callum Wilson and there is an injury concern over Allan Saint-Maximin, who would be a massive miss for them. There is a possibility we could see their new signing, Alexander Isak start. You know Newcastle will give it a go with how Eddie Howe plays but I think Liverpool will carry on at home and I think they will have too much. Sutton's prediction: 4-0 Tom's prediction: 2-0
JONES KNOWS HAS GONE FOR COMFORTABLE HOME WIN TOO 4:0 Liverpool vs Newcastle, Wednesday 8pm - PLAY SUPER 6 HERE! I've learnt to respect Newcastle's chances when playing at home but am very keen look for ways to exploit their overrated status in many markets when playing on the road. Since Eddie Howe took the job only Everton and Wolves have produced a worse attacking process on the road than Newcastle among all the ever-present Premier League teams. That was on show in their two draws with Brighton and Wolves this season. Allan Saint-Maximin and key midfielder Bruno Guimaraes are also doubts for this trip to Anfield, where Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League home games. Keep up-to-date with all the latest transfer news and rumours in our dedicated Transfer Centre blog on Sky Sports' digital platforms. You can also catch up with the ins, outs and analysis on Sky Sports News. It's difficult to see what Howe can come up with to seriously ask questions of this Liverpool defence without the pace and running ability of Saint-Maximin. Jurgen Klopp's men have conceded just five goals in their last 16 Premier League home matches. All this is pointing to a comfortable Liverpool home win, and when Liverpool win at home they usually do so by two or more goals. It's happened 14 times in their last 16 home wins. The Toon lost by two or more under Howe at Tottenham, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool last season so I was a little surprised to see as big as 8/11 with Sky Bet for Liverpool -1 on the handicap meaning we'll get paid if they win by two or more. Those looking to play a little bit more aggressively should entertain the prospect of a 4-0 (11/1 with Sky Bet) or 5-0 (20/1 with Sky Bet) for Klopp's men. SCORE PREDICTION: 4-0
I think it's too early to say we're back. One good game out of four against a really poor Bournemouth is not "back". (Even though "we're back" was my exact wording on the PL board . That was meant jokingly) Bournemouth, everything went right... We can't guarantee that tonight. Maybe we'll win, but I don't think the 9-0 is as significant as some others might.
