He wants full control of a club, which he was never going to get at our gaff. I also think that he was no fan of Sunderland 'Til I Die. Is it too much of a coincidence that he walked out the same day the cameras arrived to start filming series 3?
In my lifetime I can only think of Fergie who had total control of a club tbh ... ... it took him about a decade to get to that point.
The club has said all it needs to about Alex Neil and so have the fans. 49000 fans singing Tony Mowbray's name in the return fixture is the perfect response in my opinion. Nothing negative nothing bitter, just remind him what he could have had.
Brother in law message me saying Alex Neal left… what a bizarre decision Going to a smaller club, smaller fan base, worse ground . Makes zero sense He also mentioned Stoke fans being inbred. But he is a Scouser, so again just shows how other fans are seeing it. Only clubs fans who try to belittle us about ktare mags understandably, Stoke again they will dine out on it and fans of clubs who are quite ****e so need to point score.
Yep, so Neil saying the Manager gets the final say is tosh. Back room gets the players in, for the coach to coach.
Just seeing these 2 french lads being linked (hopefully signing) there are clearly very good prospects and rated. Wonder what Neil didn't fancy about them?
Tony Mowbray, the longest of longest worsed kept secrets in footballs official announcements to have ever been announced.
I don't think he would have minded them just wanted a better balance with some proven experience. I do too.
He wanted a squad full of 28 year old with high wages and no sell on value. Players who know their jobs and require very little coaching The Snake is dead. Long live the King
One of the things I liked about the bald snake was that he actually coached from the touchline. Very few of our coaches/managers do that and JR's mincey little handclaps did my head in. I don't subscribe to the theory that you can't influence a game once the players have crossed the white line (and I don't mean cocaine).
I'll be honest, I can't be arsed with all that. It's good for people to watch, but the Cameras in your face everywhere you look, getting people to re react to a missed chance 2 minutes early for a better shot.became a circus.
I didnt even know they were doing a 3rd one. Not sure I am that enamoured with the idea to be honest. We had our time with the first one for me.
Apparently it was that well received, everyone wants a 3rd season. For me, I find it quite invading when I'm there and not something I signed up for.
The more i think about it the more i think that Neil's departure was expected by everyone within the club, even as far back as when he arrived. It was probably a mutual understanding that as soon as a championship vacancy was open we'd let him go. We certainly replaced him in double quick time. I wonder how long Mowbray was aware of what was about to unfold. For months possibly?
It could be that as AN insisted on a rolling contract with a clause allowing him to speak to other clubs that Speakman got the impression he might not stay long and was prepared for him leaving.
