A mention for Aribo too! Hadn't seen him in the flesh before tonight, and thought he was an absolute man mountain. Swatting away Cucarella's attempts to push him out the way like he was a fly.
Really good team performance. One or two players slightly below that of others, not wishing to pick on anyone and very hard to determine who was our best player out of the rest. I thought Che worked so hard last night (thought he should have been pulled with 10 mins left as he looked exhausted). For me, Lavia edged MOM by virtue of his fine goal that was the tipping point in the game. Good fight shown by the team, seem to have an excellent togetherness. A very enjoyable evening.
The match summary on Sky was the most appallingly biased 25 minutes of TV I think I have aver watched. My only comfort was I don't pay the bastards a penny.
We could have subbed him at the same time we brought Lyanco on for Armstrong. My guess is that Ralph wanted him out there for his strength and ability to wear aerial battles if Chelsea started winning set pieces in succession.
My first game of the season last night and my voice is barely working today. What a performance! Loved the energy, grit and determination. I really wasn't concerned when we went 0-1 down and love it when the crowd gets straight behind the team when we go behind with OWTS drowning out the Chelsea celebrations. When you can see the team is that up for it, it translates to the crowd too and special nights like last night happen.
On another note, l thought the behaviour of the Chelsea players throughout was deplorable. Not just the flopping to the ground with the slightest of contact but the constant bickering at the referee and assistants was endless. The falling to the ground by Jorginho at half time when Che flicked the ball on to his head was deserving of a card...
Nice to finally have a CB pairing and GK you can believe in. We’d have conceded in the last 15 minutes last season, no doubt about that at all. Last night I was fairly confident we’d hold on, bar something special from them which they never really looked like producing.
Why is the pitch so bad? Has that been said and I missed it? It's way worse than it normally is by the end of the season!
Another mug of coffee and a paracetamol sandwich should help the recovery. Haven't managed to open the curtains and feel the full glare of daylight. It's a bright sunshiney day after last night's performance.
I was in Block 29 Row G last night so l had that little **** in front of me the whole second half, such an obnoxious character, never stopped niggling and moaning at the assistant referee. Cannot believe Chelsea paid so much for him; seriously overvalued on that performance.
It's quite a compliment in a way that Chelsea were using dirty tactics and tried so hard to get one of our players sent off. They simply couldn't cope with us.
Their go-to tactic when they don't get what they want At70 mins I thought a red card for them would come by the end, just for petulance
Ziyech would be such a likeable player if he wasn’t such a twat. He makes a 50 yard pass like it’s a 10 yarder.
Not to mention that virtually every tackle involved a little short pull, just enough to slow the player, not so much that the ref saw it We were brilliant ABK !!!!!!!
