What do people think f Boris saying we need to ensure prices because of the Ukraine? I really feel for the Ukraine people of course and Putin is a vile man but this is between NATO and Russia. I’m genuinely worried about money now, I can’t afford them bills, mortgage and things like the gym. I’ll struggle to get to many home games until this is sorted - the round trip is too much. Why should someone like me with minimal spare cash ‘endure’ to pay for their conflict when there are people with such riches. Plus of course there are others much much worse off than me.i won’t be paying the energy bills because my house matters more and i Can’t do both. I recommend people join the don’t pay campaign,
I wouldn’t do that mate, just cancel dd and wait for bill pay at the last minute then rinse and repeat.
It's shameful when the interviewers appear more balanced, intelligent and in touch with reality than the politicians. Tom Bradbury - PM Chris Mason - Chancellor Nick Robinson - Home Secretary Laura Kuenssberg - Foreign Secretary Kay Burley - Chief Tea Lady
Yeah that was my plan generally but I’m not paying the full whack. Just going to keep disputing the bill and the price and complaining and being a pain in the arse then do a quid a week repayment plan. I’m fully behind Ukraine btw just think a very rich aristocratic man saying ‘endure’ it for the Ukraine is an absolute piss take. They don’t understand the lives normal people lead this government.
Already signed up for it mate, I can't afford to pay the gas and electric at the suggested rates and as a stand I will be cancelling my October DD if nothing changes. My heating is on 15 minutes a day through the night and I'm buying warmer clothes, blankets and the likes for the winter. Mainly for the kids. It has been mentioned that anyone who refuses to pay will get a pre-paid meter fitted...how long is that going to take looking at the number of people who are likely to not pay on the 1st October? Also my credit rating is knackered anyway after separating a couple of years ago so that doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Credit ratings will be worse if we don’t pay for our homes. I’d imagine 2/3 of the nation will have bad credit ratings come April
@Smug in Boots l have consistently said reports ( interviewer) never ask the right questions. In this instance they always refer to the CRISIS, but never ask why has Parliament not being recalled. The present crisis is effecting a very large proportion of the community right across the country and should be dealt with the utmost urgency. If the Tories had any thing about them, they should have brought forward their election and got things moving asap.
Something I just though pf last night, over the last 10/15 years it’s been on the news we need new power stations or the lights are going to go out. Does anybody think this is just a ruse to get everyone s hitting them selves and to make a real effort to cut down on power usage, which means the stations we have will be able to cope?
Don’t know but it’s working ! Something I heard last week was that ‘fear is putting up prices’. What kind of a **** state of a world economy is it when a human emotion makes things cost more. People tell me capitalism works but if some fear means someone with power overcharges and we all end up in poverty, it’s hardly the best. It’s weird what we have come to accept. Never mind slagging the French, it’s time we follow their lead and kick off.
I reckon there will be power cuts over Christmas like, the government seem to be playing it down but something doesn't add up. Nailed on that Putin will turn off the gas supply to Europe over the busiest period just because he's a ****.
We're constantly told of the fear of power cuts. We're at the same time constantly told that to eat, half the population will be doing without power. So if so many apparently won't be using, shouldn't be a shortage then. What are we supposed to believe these days . I give up
The Mrs is looking to buy hot water bottles and candles (expecting power cuts this winter). Sorry to hear about your predicament and pray we all get through this crisis and enjoy living once again.
