    Date: Tuesday 30th August - KO: 19:45

    Competition: Football League Championship

Venue: CCS (Let's get the tea party ready)

Game #7 sees the Bluebirds welcome the Bluebird supporting Nathan Jones's Luton Town to the fortress that is the CCS.

The Hatters sit just 1 point above relegation threatened Swansea City and 2 behind the play-off chasing Blurebirds after a rather mixed start to the season that sees them with just one win coming against Swansea City (that was dedicated to Bluebirds fan Roger Thomas who sadly passed away) and 3 draws from their 6 games so far.

    Mad Hatter.JPG

Nathan Jones in good sprits after his teams victory against the Swans.

The Hatters possess a few dangerous players, with the ever green Robert Snodgrass amongst their ranks, former Bluebird Cameron Jerome and top scorer (with 2 goals) Carlton Morris.

With 4 goals scored and 5 conceded, Luton have a record somewhat similar to the Capital City club so can we expect a goal fest at the CCS tomorrow?

The Bluebirds and Hatters have a close head to head record with the Bedfordshire side just shading things with 24 victories to the Bluebirds 23 and 17 games drawn.

    Early Team News
With the Bluebirds putting in a good but frustrating (in terms of goals) performance against Corporatioon Bus Drivers from Lancashire, will we finally see Steve Morison tinker with his striker?
Defensively we are likely to see new boy Neils Nkounkou come in for his full debut after appearing from the becn last week and impressing in the time he was on the pitch.
That in turn would free up Callum O'Dowda to be moved back further up the pitvh where he can do some damage (hopefully) with his intelligent running off the ball and trickery on it.
After droppoing to the bench on the weekend with Joe Ralls favoured instead, we may see a return for Andy Rinomhota.

Last season saw Luton run out 1-0 winners at the CCS so a return to the kind of result from the season before (a resounding 4-0 victory for the boys in blue) would be most welcome.

From what I can see, David Prutton is on his holidays right now as there doesn't appear to be any predictions from him... probably just as well with his recent record being akin to most of us in the prediction league!

I can't let a game v Luton go by without popping this iconic image back up again...

    Friday.JPG
Luton keeper Milija Aleksic gets that Friday feeling!

Excuse the brevity of this thread, I am writing it in bright sunshine sat on the decking of our caravan (Peroni in hand) in Exmouth and the WiFi is as intermittent as the City's goal scoring right now, so quitting while the going is good...

Let's hope the City can do the same tomorrow come full time!!

    Blooooooooooooooobirds.

    Outstanding work Brizzle.
Love your commitment to the cause sir. On holiday but still putting in a shift and producing high quality.

I'm looking forward to the battle between Hatters and Watters

I've admired your contributions to date Brizzle, but for the first time I see the teeniest, tiniest faltering.
O'Dowda picked up a hip injury on the weekend and is unlikely to be available for this game.:emoticon-0105-wink:

It'll be interesting to see who fills the LB slot.
Will Nkounkou step in quashing the hopes of Bagan?
In the absence of O'Dowda, or is this another SM smoke screen, will he consider Nkounkou further forward? We do have options in the wide berths. We're seeing the benefits of squad depth already.
Adams back on grass and Davies not far off.
Soon have a full squad to choose from, accepting Collins will miss tge rest of the season.

Great work Brizzle, cheap shot from me.<cheers>

Not on any sort of form. But you never know.

A hard working eleven who will make it tough for Luton with scope to bring some flair off the bench.

O'Dowda definitely injured then. Not a SM ruse.
Philogene on the bench as well.
Who will be the creator of the midfield 3?
SM rotating, selecting based on the oposition or just guessing?
Given the attention to detail SM seems to give, would suggest its no the last one.

Midfield 3 appears to be most negative. No pace or creativity - the thing we’ve been bemoaning since Tomlin left.

I really hope we see a different type of central midfielder coming in before the window shuts

I think SM is sticking to his 16 man team approach and rotating within that idea as far as possible.

Nkounkou seems heavily involved early on.

High foul count from Luton and two if their players booked before halftime. We must be doing something right.

Looked a good first half after a start on the back foot. I'm not at game. Away at Poole.

Why are we playing like an away team? We need to be in n their half and keep the pressure on around their box.

It’s difficult to see where a goal is coming from?
