Hasenhuttl has had 2 x 9-0 defeats at Southampton hasn’t he? However I don’t think what Parker said in his after match interview helped his situation Bournemouth boss Scott Parker after that defeat at Anfield: "It doesn’t surprise me. This is currently where it is at this moment in time. The players need help. Today proved too big a challenge. The levels were far too big. When you come out and say the result doesn’t surprise you after only 3 games then you’re not exactly saying you know how to fix it and have your board asking what exactly have you been doing in preparation for the Premier League
Bournemouth statement says that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. Clearly Parker wants more money to try improve the squad, board have said no and are more than happy to go down without spending money and just take the tv money and parachute payments.
“However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a Club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. We must also show belief in and respect for one another." Sounds like he wanted to spend more money than the owners wanted to and he didn't believe they could stay up. I would still have given him more time, unless he's lost the dressing room.
I think effectively telling his whole squad they aren’t good enough to stay in the prem prob didn’t help in terms of motivation and keeping the players on his side either Tbf. Not that he was wrong, but prob need a bit more tact
Didn’t realise those 3 defeats were Arsenal, City and then Liverpool. Not exactly the teams you first want to play straight up Wonder with this part of their statement ‘We must also show belief in and respect for one another. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now’ Parker has given them both barrels, He did say this not so long ago that they needed new bodies to evolve as a football club. When you look at the players they’ve brought in, which aren’t many you don’t exactly see anyone that says better than they already had.
yeah i winced at that bit at the time thinking i'm not sure telling the squad they are ****e will motivate them to give their all
It's honest, they're not good enough. The club isn't willing to bring in fresh talent... What do they expect? Games against City, Liverpool and Arsenal should not be the benchmark in how you judge a manager who just got promoted to PL and has the weakest squad to pick from. It's unlikely they will have a better manager that is willing to manage them.
That cardigan is a sacking offence in itself. Seriously, getting a bit of a buggering by Liverpool, City and a currently hot Arsenal side isn't a disaster for a championship squad. It's obvious a falling out with the board over how to progress that's the issue. His comment about the players was more likely a side-swipe at the board, but was a bit ill-advised from a team morale point of view. I think he was a bit dazed post-match, tbh.
Parker managerial career reads: Fulham: playoff winners promoted to Prem, relegated finished 18th, 11 points away form 17th. sacked off having made comments post season about trying to stop cycle of promotion and relegation bournemouth: 2nd place in championship, promotion. Sacked after 4 games having made comment about not being prepared for this level. A bit of a trend forming here. Good enough to get promotion, bit of a mouth on him.
And how many want to manage Bournemouth? You're right, Parker is no genius, but B have probably the weakest squad in the PL and they're unwilling to strengthen. It would take a mastermind to keep them up this year.
Parker sacked because he mouthed off at the owners. If you read the club statement and something about showing mutual respect, that says they were pissed off about his comments after the match. He's been sounding off in preseason as well. Inexperience from Parker here. And come across as a bit of a hot head, just letting his emotions get the better of him. As a manager he should learn when to speak and when to be a bit more diplomatic.
probably someone who would quite like to 2,3 or 4 mil wage? I don't actually know what the going rate for a manager in lower prem is now TBH. Their model is to go for someone young so I would have said wayne rooney for example as a name but he went to DC utd who are awful so he is not strictly available now. If they break from that then there's a few the press are talking up as the obvious old stagers, dyche and wilder.
I see that Pogba continues to disappear up his own backside. I’m surprised he can run at all with his head up his arse.
