Not sure we’re in for him tbh. He fits the profile of player we’re after, but I think we’re looking at Neto from Wolves and Yeremy from Villiareal for a winger. I also think we’re waiting out the Tielemans deal. Pretty sure Edu has been speaking to him and his people for time now and apparently personal terms are agreed. Lesta might want £30m for him but they ain’t getting it. So we might wait until the last day and get him for £20m or we’ll just sit it out and get him on a free next summer This is of course all in theory coz we know he won’t be joining Arsenal coz Fosse said so and he gets these thing right all of the time, as he proved with the Fofana to Chelsea deal.

We sold an exceptional 21 year old who is a fabulous talent ... provided he stays fit he will be a wonderful player for Chelsea and that money spread over a 5 or 6 year contract will be money very well spent ... I doubt anybody would match our Maddison valuation... ballers like him don't come along too often ...
Fofana is overrated like most players these days and therefore over priced. Maddison will either be sold cheap next summer or he'll sign a new contract which right now I don't think will appeal to him. Maddison knows if he runs his contract down he'll get snapped up by a big club.
This squad finished fifth twice and won the FA Cup ... last season was disrupted by injuries but we still managed to reach a European semi-final ... But footie is about cycles and despite a good pre-season including beating Sevilla there is obvious disunity in the camp and Fofana's antics haven't helped ... I expect to see an upturn in our fortunes once the window has closed and the off the field distractions go away ...
Fofana is not Maguire ... and you have hardly watched him ... he's the best young central defender I've seen at the club in my 50 years of watching and he won player of the season awards and the FA Cup in his first season ... he is anything but overrated ... and Chelsea with him and Reece James in the same team are going to have an amazing defence ...
Well Maddison wasn’t cheap. About £20m. Wonder if he has a sell on clause that will reduce the fee they finally get, like Maguire and Fofana deals?
