Depends on the person I think. Ryan Bertrand and Oriel Romeu both joined us from Chelsea, and were never anything but professional. Tino Livramento likewise so far.
I don't think so either. But intriguing that it the profile of people we are apparently trying to get in the attacking roles. Whether that profile want to come is another matter. And hopefully we don't go "all or nothing" on those positions. As in if we can't get a 30-35m player we don't get anyone There were some interesting links on pacy, direct running attackers earlier in the summer - the Villareal guy with only a year left on his deal and the Man CIty youngster who also only had a year left and was heading to Leverkusen but still hasn't gone there
What I was wondering with regards to the Caleta-Car link is why Villa wouldn’t just go for him instead of bednarek I guess premier league experience and maybe loan vs permanent and they don’t have the cash or don’t want to buy another permanent defender having recently spent big money on one I also don’t understand why West Ham were linked with Bednarek but are rumoured to be loaning out Dawson (who Villa are linked with). It doesn’t make sense to me unless it is a first team football issue
PSV are one of the clubs linked with 18 year old Adedire Mebude from Man City - seems like a Gakpo replacement for them. Talk of a sale with a buy back. This fits the profile of our signings this summer more than Gakpo. Which indicates the earlier rumours of knowing we need to invest more in the attacking positions rather might have something in them.
Remember that other Croatian CB we signed, a few years back? I don’t follow football as closely as most of you do, so have never heard of this guy. Hope he’s better than his brother, Webuyany Car
Need to brace for the mini-meltdowns for people out there who assume that because there was a rumoured transfer link to him and he is going somewhere else that we have “lost out” on him I’ve already seen it with regards to Hudson Odoi to Leverkusen with sarcastic comments of “Thanks Sports Republic”
