It was @rooch 3 ‘s line that we’ve been here before which was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me. he’s right. If the mantra is and continues to be that this club won’t bend over and pay too much, then that’s fine. Stoke aren’t spending much on transfer fees but their wage structure will be significantly higher than ours. And if we break that for the manager it’s just the first domino.
That doesnt confirm AN signed the contract 4 weeks ago, it just says 'That contract was redrawn up and was only signed four weeks ago'. Signed by who? Was it just signed by the club ? Clever use of words possibly.
That was my original point, but the poster I was replying to was arguing it was signed by AN. It might been signed off by the KLD, Sartori and Donald.
All we can take from that is that Neil signed a new contract 4 weeks ago. There are no details so anything else is conjecture. The other thing that we can be sure of is that Neil agreed to sign the contract, no one could force him against his will.
A dangerous use of words if it goes to a court of law. Once it is in the public domain it becomes evidential and Speakman would be torn to shreds
The annoying thing in that transcript is the bit where he says ‘once this matter concludes with Alex, we will embark on the interview process”. Why? as far as I am concerned if he hasn’t joined Stoke, he is in breach of contract. He was given permission to speak to them on Friday, that should be enough. If you have your list as you claim, the interview process should be underway
There has been no suggestion by the club that the new contract changed the length of the deal! Just that it rewarded AN with more money! If he wasn't happy and wanted a longer deal he could have and should have refused to discuss more money on the same deal and request more money on longer term deal. To me it all stinks from AN. I struggle to feel he has been had by the club when he was no doubt starting dialogue with Stoke after the match last week!
I'm pretty sure they will have already started the process. They just need to wait for confirmation at Stokes end before they can officially announce things themselves.
That’s what I am sort of saying. But he is saying we will start the interview process, I would like to think, they have been diarised starting tomorrow. It’s likely that Neil will be official tomorrow, his first contact will be Canning, leaving us with Twit and Twat on the sidelines on Wednesday. I realise they were there yesterday but had some comfort in Canning. Actually can anyone over in the West stand confirm who was up at the touch line, there seemed to be one particular one but hard to see from my seat and old eyes
100% with you on this, I said before I would love the club to announce the new bloke before AN is announced at Stoke! What we hanging around for that for? Even if it's just wording to sound like you are being respectful that AN hasn't officially gone **** him. He wasn't there managing the team kicking off hour or so after the interview you are given to sky about the fact he isn't there and is watching his next club instead. **** him, yeah we have started the process. To be honest we heard AN was flashing his frilly knockers to the Stoke board after last weeks match, they have been chatting away all week and now it looks like he has done the dirty. So yes we have started the process of looking at candidates, we had a lost ready and are well underway with interviews as of yesterday when AN got in his car and ****ed off on the eve of a match! Have you heard the one about the greedy jock?
A contract is a legal agreement between two parties, so at the beginning of a legal process that may or may not end up in a court of law, Speakman said, "the contract was signed 4 weeks ago". He better be absolutely clear what he says and what goes out into the public domain otherwise Neil's barrister will have a field day in court.
Flash, I always go in early to watch the warm up. I expected it to be downbeat yesterday but it wasn't. There was obviously something amiss but the senior players and coaches did a great job encouraging them, Bailey Wright was excellent in that respect.
I would be very surprised if Neil even tried to take us to court. He left the club Friday, missed a game to sit in the stands of his possible new club. If he tried anything, we would have him for breach of contract
So would I Chunk, but the fact is we are due compensation and that needs to be agreed by both parties or it may end up as a dispute and heard in a court of law.
I'm sure that will get sorted without the need of lawyers. I hope when Neil comes back he feels the full force of the crowd and we let him know what a **** trick he pulled
Aye, I reckon the sale of Balti pies will go up in the middle section of the West Stand either side of the dug out on that day
A signed contract is a contract signed by all parties privy to it. If you really want to get into semantics then the employer is the counter signatory on an employment contract so the employee (Neil) would have signed first for the club to then sign.
He doesn't say that though, he says the contract was signed. Not the decision was signed off on. I think you're looking for something that's not there. I'm not sure why, either to defend Neil which is a tough gig at this stage or to attack the club presumably.
