Enjoyed the game and on another day with a bit of luck was a comfortable home win. Onien was terrific at centre back Evans good in midfield thought Pritchard wasn’t at his best but not bad. Waited to long for the subs. They changed the game with 3 subs the fresh legs gave them the edge and we didn’t react. It’s the first season for 5 subs and we seem to barely make 1 or 2. Midfield is still our weakest area still need experienced quality players in quickly. Deserved a point but you sometimes don’t get what you deserve. Big game Wednesday Rotherham undefeated need to get back to winning ways. As for Alex Neil disappointed he’s gone but let’s move on and get behind the players as we did today, and the new manager whoever he is, even Mowbray who wouldn’t be in my first 20 or more choices but keep the faith lads and lasses.
lots of despondent comments about the likes of Mowbray coming in. My take from today was that we have a very talented , skillfull, hard-working team, who could have maybe benfitted from a little piece of experience today, maybe from an old hand with experience of getting a result from a tight situation like today. maybe like Warnock, or Jim Smith, or Tony Mowbray who can squeeze that extra 5% out of the lads on the field to get us over the line. I'm happy to give him a go. Fergies autobiography gives me inspiration whenever I need a lift.
I've just watched the full 90 minutes recorded from Sky, we were excellent. How bloody fortunate were Norwich, they put bodies on the line and Krul made a great save from Stewart. Sargent was excellent for them as was Hanley but we had performances all over the pitch and any one of them could have got the MoM. The crowd were outstanding creating a great atmosphere and kept it up for the 90 minutes. It’s a **** time for us but I am encouraged by the response of the players and crowd, after all the shenanigans yesterday I nearly put a tenner on us to get beat 0-3 (I just couldn’t bring myself to do it) and was dreading going to the SOL today, I should be ashamed of myself and can’t wait until Wednesday Ha’way the Lads
I was pleasantly surprised with the performance today, if AN hadn't been a knacker I'd have been pleased with that, but on reflection, I'm so impressed with and proud of these players. Fantastic the way they played with all of the uncertainty and disruption. Credit to all of them, particularly with so much youth in the team. These lads won't give up and get relegated, we'll be alright. Well done lads, Sunderland fans always want 100% effort and rightly so, you gave that again today with plenty of skill, endeavour and resilience on top. Brilliant, thank you and keep it going, it means a lot to a lot of people.
Exactly what I said to my brother in law today, he does the work that most don't see and had two cracking shots on target, unlucky not to score with either of them.
He was, unlucky is putting it mildly. I was never sure about him last season and I think that was fair enough because after a bright start he wasn't very convincing, but since we've been promoted he's been immaculate.
Norwich were favourites for the title at the start of the season and it’s clear to see they’ll be right up there competing to go up. I thought we were the better side for an hour, our starting XI will massively compete but we’ll struggle when injuries and suspensions kick in. Hopefully we get a few in over the next few days and give it a right good go… **** Alex Neil.
I played number 4 so I watch that position more than I watch others, Evans has been great this season, he wasn't bad last season either. I'm also pissed off with all the negative ****e posted on here about the club I have followed since 1962
When they made their subs and brought on Pukki and Cantwell it was pretty clear what quality their squad has. Both of those lads are low end premier league level imo. Good luck to them, played the game in the right spirit (apart from Krul time wasting but that's nothing unusual), showed their quality for the goal and defended heroically.
It’s been the same in all 3 home games so far, mate. Quality in attacking areas off the bench to affect the game whilst we tire. We don’t have that currently.
Wouldn’t usually post personal stuff but I love this picture I took of the little lad today. We are Sunderland, nobody is bigger than the club. Neil will soon be forgotten about. please log in to view this image
That's true, maybe Bennette and the French lad will provide depth but I think we're going to need to dig a bit deeper financially and get a Broadhead in. Diamond can't be the only option, even if we knew he was there ability wise it's not his position. Nice pic of your lad mate. I had the (Geordie) in laws round earlier who were talking about buying Newcastle shirts for my boy, I said they were welcome to as long as they didn't mind them going in the bin.
Totally mate, remember listening to all that at the match last season and thinking maybe the lad is being a bit exposed to be fair. Can't remember which match it was but my son was chuffed when Evans scored after listening to a never ending tirade. Felt like saying, we get your point mate, no need to shout the same thing every minute. Not sure if I'm impatient with repetitive information being being bellowed in my ear or the Evans hater was being moronic. Fair enough if you don't like a player but **** me
