Nothing pathetic about having a thread about RL on a City message board, it always appears to stimulate a lot of debate. With City not really having a historic rival banter has always been exchanged with the eggchasers, arguments about atmosphere and attendance will only increase with the build up to the 2 big games next weekend.
Our clubs in the best place it’s been for years, we have an owner who cares, we’re playing well on the pitch and the atmosphere is the probably best it’s ever been at the KCOM. So naturally, the second thread on this message board is about Hull FC and the same people having the same pointless debate they’ve had for years
Bumper attendance guaranteed for RL Derby. 2000 tickets given to local children. My grandkids got given one each but are not going because the match clashes with first ice hockey home match of the season. As ticket holders they will be included in the bumper attendance.
For all those who want to be outraged at Radio Humberside's biased commentary, coverage begins at 2.30pm today. Enjoy.
It will be the worst attended derby since the KCOM opened, it’s a reserve/youth game as both teams don’t have any players left. Both teams have had poor seasons and there’s nothing to play for. City inflated their attendances last season to avoid dropping under 10k, there were less than 8k there for a few games, I’ve seen the GSR’s.
Attendances are based on tickets sold not how many turn up. Man Utd don’t have 75,000 in the ground every week amongst others. Surely the tickets sold out for the derby weeks ago when there was something to play for? They are like gold dust.
23,004 for 2 September 2007 fixture, which (suspiciously) beat the then record of 21,000 for Leeds v Bradford in 1999, although Leeds v Castleford got 23,246, but that was at a football ground. City hold the stadium attendance record for sporting events.
Capacity is 23,500 for a rugby league match due to there being unreserved seating which reduces the capacity. Never sold them all yet.
