monty you can't say a push in the back is a stroke of luck when that's what Stoke got their penalty for as well, that merely evened up the soft penalty decision at the other end!

since Cestria and co were clambering for an anti-Newcastle statement from me here goes...

Where it could (and most likely will) go wrong is when they suffer either A) an injury to Steven Taylor or Fabricio Coloccini or B) a suspension for Steven Taylor or Fabricio Coloccini. It could be even worse if they both got injured/suspended at the same time. Their squad is painfully thin, especially at the back, but up front is also a worry since Demba Ba is the only one scoring goals in handfulls for them. Pardew has had the benefit of having his 1st 11 available to him for near enough the whole campaign so far so let's not praise him too much when other managers such as your very own Steve Bruce have had the trouble of suspensions, injuries and having to bed in 382 new players this season into his squad. You can't achieve anything with a squad as threadbare as the one Newcastle have so it's vitally important that they keep injuries and suspensions to a minimum.

Yes they've had a heap of luck, had Jay Bothroyd not confirmed he was one of the Premier League's biggest donkeys then Newcastle would have lost one a long time ago. Joey Barton should have probably walked with Gervinho on match day 1, from what Phil Thompson says Krul should have been sent off thus suspended for his challenge in the Blackburn CC game, Wolves had a perfectly good goal disallowed against them, had Liverpool not signed Enrique then Ryan Taylor wouldn't have been on the pitch to smash one past Mignolet in your 'derby'.

Nile Ranger is probably the biggest arsehole in football, it's disgusting how Pardew has treated loyal servant Steve Harper, James Perch is the worst defender in the WORLD, their fans are not the best fans in the world contrary to what they think (even though that's a given for every team really), they have a right back and a right winger only fit for Man Utd's reserves bench, and their stadium is not aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

How does that measure up? obviously 90% of it is pointless drivel and uncalled for but I accept your critiques of my posting history, maybe I have been a little pro-NUFC but I've just admired the way they've operated since bouncing back up from the Championship.

To be honest, I've been genuinely impressed by the humility shown by the majority of Sunderland fans and I do worry that all of us from the BnW side will be made to suffer for the over-excited few.

Either way, I'm loving life at the minute. Being a Newcastle fan hasn't been this good in ages (although I've said that every season since we were relegated!)

If by that you are referring me to under the 'co' umbrella, thats not what I have wanting. It is just a bit of parity on your part. Otherwise, we may find ourselves in this situation again.

My gaffer is a lifelong Manc (red) and if always takes the piss out of your 2nd club....

    What does that even mean?

My mother worked for the NHS for 30 years helping people with Cancer and MS but when she told me to stay in bed when I was sick I don't take an ounce of notice.

Yeah, most United fans do take the piss out of Newcastle, probably because of Keegan's outburst and Shearer choosing them over us when he left Blackburn. That's banter, my boss is also a Man United fan and I've just asked him what he thinks of Newcastle and he said "Top win last night, can't believe how good they're playing". I didn't ask for an evaluation of their season, I just said "What do you think of Newcastle?"....under your rules he should have turned to me and said "F**king joke mate".

I don't mind the guy (Cestriamackem) if he's got a chip on his shoulder regarding something I've said I'd rather he confronted me which he has done, albeit by addressing me as Hardheed.

To be fair you guys probably know him better than me, but he's just a passionate poster as far as I'm concerned. Shame he kicks up a fuss when his back is to the wall but other than that I'm sure he adds a decent amount of entertainment on here.

My Mrs (spoke about her a lot today) always shouts at the tele when Big Brother is on, saying get such and such a loser out of the house. I just think that surely if that person has been 'evicted' then she'd just be watching a bunch of pansies putting flowers in each others hair and saying nice things to each other. The same principles apply to this not606 forum in that without the bigger characters, it would be incredibly boring, even if they do resort to personal insults from time to time.

Personally i've always found your posts to be well informed and unbiased. I think Cestria and the other complainers on here just haven't liked what you had to say.

As for what you just said about NUFC, i'd agree with the vast majority of it even though it is not complimentary to the club I love. We are a couple of injuries in key positions away from difficult times and we were very lucky to get a win at Wolves and draw at QPR.

Don't agree re Harper, he was injured and Krul has taken his chance and has been playing too well to be dropped. Exactly why Harper is out on loan hasn't been explained but it could be because Harper has requested it, we really don't know and i'm not leaping to a negative conclusion.

Anyway don't let the critics get you down and keep it honest, the intelligent posters will recognise the integrity behind your comments.

How often is there an article on the Newcastle board when there is an article in any given newspaper that doesn't paint Newcastle is a fantastic light?

(The current 'media love in' being the exception)

Do I detect double standards here Donkey?

Quite often actually! There's always something negative being written in the press about Newcastle.

Dirty Mackem, CestHarry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as i am a .44 Mackem, the most Boring Mackem in the world, and would Bore your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, Terry?

No he isn't, he is a Man U fan who has a general interest in football and is not afraid to give an honest assessment. If he had said good things about your club you wouldn't be complaining. As he said the opposite you have chosen to assume he has an agenda.

Actually i'd say that almost every negative media article gets picked up on an commented on. Most usually take the piss out of the journo and rubbish everything they have to say but there are a fair few who at least consider whether there is any merit in the comments before adding their own.

I don't believe in sticking my head in the sand and ignoring our downfalls, I prefer to acknowledge them. Ask the QPR fans what the feedback was after our game. Many of us went over and admitted that we had made away like bandits by taking a point from them.

It seems to me Sunderland fans are actually starting to see where their place is.

In all honesty you all seem to be taking it well so respect goes to you all.
