Their top scorer from last season, Emmanuel Dennis, was signed by Forest in August so their main attacking threat is Ismaïle Sarr, who scored 13 the last time they were in the Championship. Unfortunately for us, Sarr's move to Villa fell through this week, so he'll still be available to face us on Saturday, but hopefully feeling rather unsettled. In May Roy Hodgson left and was replaced as manager by Rob Edwards, another young English manager at 39, who has been coaching in different roles for the last five years. Watford have started the season with three draws and two wins. Both wins were 1-0 at home (against Burnley and Sheffield United), and they haven't scored more than one goal in any game this season. They also lost 0-2 on Tuesday night to MK Dons in the League Cup. All this to say, they don't look like prolific goalscorers so far this season, and so here's hoping our defenders can step up and keep them out. As for us, after two very frustrating home games, losing to Blackpool then drawing with Rotherham, let's hope we show some more quality on the road. A lot of frustration on here after those games so it'll be interesting to see what changes Beale makes, and how he sets the team up for Watford. Given their scoring record, I'd be cautiously optimistic about our chances, and go there looking to withstand some pressure and be ready to hit them on the break with Chair, Roberts and hopefully Willock ready to show some pace and skill on the counter. Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy those who'll make it, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Oh how we are crying out for an iceman Helguson to lead our front line. Not optimistic about this one. U Rrrrrr's
I am going today. So a definite loss. Been to Watford a couple of times always lose...and I have snarky friend who is at the other end and will rub it in. However I am putting my faith in Keith Stroud...who owes us one and hates Watford as a Luton fan and has no reputation to lose, as he has not got one. 2 unwarranted penalties please
