It has a feel of AN trying to bluff the club and get a bigger contract. Speakmann has called his bluff and now AN has a massive contract at a club he doesn't want to be at
From the club's perspective, ignoring all the noise, their last statement was that Neil was talking to Stoke and that we are working to keep him. Until he's officially announced at Stoke, short of announcing we've fired him, I don't know what else they can do.
So AN did this at a time to inflict maximum damage on Speakman? Also causing disruption to the team would be to Stoke advantage.
I think the club statements are quite clever. Designed to make Alex Neil the in the spotlight. They are clearly saying it his his choice, we are working to keep him but he isnt interested in talking. The word absence this morning is very telling. In other words, he is absent from his duties. They are manouvering well here in my opinion to ensure he comes out of this with no credit whatsoever.
**** him, he’ll never manage a club as big as us. He negotiated a contract to allow him to do this, he was never staying long term, thanks for the promotion now off you ****. Massive few days for the club
