    WATFORD v QUEENS PARK RANGERS
    Vicarage Road Stadium
    Saturday 27th August 2022
    Kick Off : 1500 BST

Watford head into Saturday's fixture with Queens Park Rangers looking to extend their unbeaten record in the Championship to six matches.

At a time when the Hornets sit in second position in the standings, QPR are down in 17th spot after an indifferent start to the campaign.

Such is the Watford way that there is seemingly never a dull moment when it comes to incomings and outgoings at Vicarage Road, and that has continued to be the case this week.

Since Sunday afternoon, there have been times when Ismaila Sarr and Joao Pedro have both looked on their way out of the club, but the forward pair are still at the Hornets at the present time.

While losing at home to MK Dons in the EFL Cup in midweek came as a disappointment, Edwards will not mind in the long run with their focus being on Championship matters.

Like Watford, much is expected of a QPR outfit under new management with Michael Beale arriving at the club with a growing reputation after his time working under Steven Gerrard.

However, collecting just five points from as many matches in the Championship means that the honeymoon period is very much over, the London side without a win in four matches in all competitions.

A late decision will be made on the availability of both Ismaïla Sarr and João Pedro for the Hornets’ Sky Bet Championship clash at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Sarr - who has been absent since the 1-0 victory over Burnley earlier this month - has been back in training this week after recovering from hamstring stiffness, while João Pedro is aiming for a return after missing the Preston and MK Dons clashes with a calf strain.

Fellow forward Keinan Davis continues to suffer with illness.

You’d think Sarr would be fit - he was travelling up last week with the squad .

Maybe they are waiting to see if Pedro’s head is “in the right frame of mind” to play ?

Keith Stroud is a Luton fan ..

    Probably hates both teams then!

A QPR forum has him as a ‘Muff fan:

“Referee >>> Keith Stroud (Hampshire), over the last ten
years QPR have had 20 fixtures with Keith Stroud resulting in
12 defeats, five draws and just three wins. In that time they
have had six penalties awarded against them, none for, and
had four of their players sent off, to just one opponent. This
Bournemouth-born official has refereed the Cherries' ten
times in his career - W9 D1 LO”

I wonder how this petition is going?

Two names to hopefully strike fear into QPR there - and shut the rumour mongers up.

The Norwich win knocks us out of the top two. A win would take us top unless Reading or Blackburn go on a goal spree.

    Afternoon all, hope all well.
Just gone looking for a stream and got a warning that I might be in danger from malicious intent - they think I am based in Alexandria Egypt!!!

I'm watching the Hive broadcast via my IPTV service - the only commentary audible is from Tommy Mooney - Jon Marks must be in a different room...

I can't see how that can be called Chair's goal - it was going wide until it hit Sierralta

Usually means that we'll have problems... at best.
