Just listened to this on Solent.

Why do we need another thread though?

As it is different to Hooiveld returning to Celtic.

I do hope you remain consistent and moan at the two different Adkins articles...

He didn't do himself any harm tonight if he wants a contract at Saints. The problem is that the same applies if he wants to go back to Celtic. Factors include his wages, what Celtic want to do, his price, and what Nigel wants (though I think we can guess).

Sign him up. I will provide the pen.

Can't see why the SPL would appeal really. Especially as there are only 2 teams in it and Celtic are 3rd.

Very confusing, didn't he say the other day that he would welcome a return to Celtic in January?

Maybe he's trying to keep his options open, but coming out in the open with these conflicting statements could come across as though he is trying to play one against the other. Possibly to get the best financial deal for himself... afterall money takes precedence over loyalty nowadays doesn't it.

As DM would say "What Saints don't want to do now is let Hoover go"

Don't blame Jos for staying neutral. He is a Celtic player and won't rock the boat until he knows what's on offer. He said on Player yesterday that he's heard nothing.

I don't think it bears too much textural analysis really. He is being interviewed by Solent and gets asked whether he would like to stay at Saints. What is going to say? "Well to be honest, I would much rather go back to Celtic, as my mates live there and I get shedloads more money." He's a polite man, so even it he were to think it, he is going to sound non-committal and say that he is loving playing for us, isn't he?
