Be good to see a huge turnout singing out loud all game - and make him regret swopping it for a bit of “Delilah”!
5-2. Lets just hammer somebody & forget who that bloke was we had as manager and move on. This is SAFC this is what we do.
Can't see anything other than an away win now. Footballers are like toddlers, they CAN do what they are supposed to but only if their parents are watching. Left unattended they will crayon on the walls and use boot Polish on the white carpet I expect the usual, pathetic response to losing a manager by failing to track runners or Mark at corners. If Norwich get an early goal we are ****ed
It's the morning of the match and I've woke up excited again, there is no doubt more to come out from yesterdays bizarre news but come 12.30 the only thing that matters is the players. We will be there as we always are, with hope and expectation, the hope the players leave everything on the pitch for the shirt, the expectation of them giving their all as a bare minimum. Haway the ****ing lads, we will always be Sunderland till I die
We’ve got to hope the coach taking the team (Canning I think) is well respected and is the one with the ideas. And that the players have pride and want to show the supporters that they care.
It seems a lot was going on in the background with the relations between the manager and those above him. I still reckon AN wanted Broadhead ( plus Simms), but money got in the way. He went to a rival... which must be galling. We have not brought in the experienced players, we all see are needed in the squad. Money again I assume. Stewart has not signed a new contract, money I presume. The running of the ticket office and club shop is a shambles.. money. It seems we are trying to have a sustainable model of financial prudence in the championship on Donald money...KLD is not funding the club to be successful atm, we need Investment first then its possible to become 'sustainable'. AN by throwing his toys out of the pram, and joining Stoke! ffs... may have done us a favour by highlighting the financial straitjacket we have to endure.
The club has been held to ransom by managers/players/agents, over the years, and millions wasted. We've had a recent history of paying injured players, sometimes for a whole season, then seeing them leave. It appears Neil wanted players he'd managed before which could work out well or it could be another Moyes debacle. Managers don't need to be too careful because they know they can bale out, if they screw things up, and leave the club to clear up the mess. I like Broadhead but he's a moody player and seems the type to pick up injuries. It's all very well for Neil to want his own way but he's there to manage the team, not the club.
We have the 3rd highest net spend in the league and hes joining a club who are under strict financial constraints ao dont think its got anything to do with money. We shouldnt be over paying for players so im pleased we stick to our valuations. I do agree we need to do somethinh about the ticket office n club shop though as thats been a joke
I reckon Neil will be happier working with Stoke’s squad, than ours. Loads of decent championship players in there with lots of experience, unlike ours. Gutted its came to this but he’s stitched us right up.
I will be looking at Stoke’s results first every game hoping they’ve been hammered and dropping into league 1, Definitely my second team now.
Nee haway from me today I’m gonna give it a wtaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaf! I’m gannin for a brekkie and don’t even feel that bothered
Sunderland AFC’s existing first-team backroom staff will oversee today’s fixture versus Norwich City in the absence of Alex Neil. Assistant Head Coach Martin Canning will be in attendance alongside First-Team Coaches Mike Dodds and Michael Proctor and Head of Goalkeeping Alessandro Barcherini. Team news Dan Ballard remains out following a fractured foot picked up during the 2-2 draw with QPR. Niall Huggins is a longer-term absentee, while Carl Winchester has been back on the grass following a back injury. Opposition Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League last season, and have started this campaign with seven points from their opening five games. Last time out in Sky Bet League One, Dean Smith’s side won 2-0 against Millwall, with Josh Sargent scoring twice.
