Yes Medro but I have never heard of the nationality Republic of Irish either. Only the term Irish which transcends the whole island disregarding a silly artificial border.

You've invented an adjective to suit your argument. I've heard people say 'I'm from the Republic of Ireland/Southern Ireland/Eire' before, and that's different to how someone from NI would describe themselves. What a boring discussion.

Saying they are from a certain location does not mean different nationality. You will so hear people say they are from Belfast instead of saying N Ireland or Ireland, or Galway instead of the RoI. Does that mean these people are of a different nationality. Mo, they are simply geographically referencing where they live, not claiming to a particular nationality.

If you say 'Republic of Ireland' (as opposed to the United Kingdom controlled part) or 'Southern Ireland' (as opposed to Northern Ireland), you're clearly referencing a nation, and therefore a nationality. Obviously people are more likely to tell me that than 'I'm from Galway' since they'll assume that as a foreigner, I'm ignorant of where particular parts of Ireland are (and rightly so). I don't understand the direction of your argument. Are you saying that every single Irish person tells people they're from 'Ireland' rather than Northern/Southern?

Well the Good Friday Agreement has it down officially that the two nationalities are Irish or British. Not Northern Irish. All im asking medro is which one does he tick. If he ticks British then he proves my earlier point and he must retract his comment that I am a bigot. If he ticks Irish then he must explain why he opposes a unified island.

I would say no, but it is a good pic though! If you can get the pic up, I will get ER to show you his penis, I can't be fairer than that.

This conversation has went how all these conversations usually go, in that you have some people telling other people who and what they are whether they like it or not. In the end no one ever agrees and these always go on forever so there is no point in continuing.
