Nice to see the grease is finally allowing some wheels to start moving before the window closes… but, I REALLY hope I’m wrong in thinking Isak isn’t going to be up to much. I’ve just not got a good feeling about it. Would much rather we signed Ramos from Benfica (assuming he would come). Not trying to be negative, and love the fact we’re adding options / talent at the right age, but I’m a bit concerned at the amount alongside my own uncertainty. Gotta believe the club / Eddie / scouts know a lot more than I do however.
He’sa very good player - needs to be more consistent though. I wouldn’t say though he’s an out and out striker.
Yeah, it's either lazy journalism (as we were linked with him days ago) or something is really going on there. Depends what he costs, as it looks like Ajax are taking the same stance as Leicester in asking for inflated prices to avoid losing more players. So difficult to tell whether we genuinely have a few potential deals going on, or whether Isak will be it. Even then, I saw that Chelsea might come in with a bid for Isak too, so who knows. I'll wait to judge everything after deadline day, as all this excitement of us actually being involved in the transfer window is getting too much. I need a lay down.
Ajax are selling Anthony for 94 million euros so I doubt they will sell cheaply. I reckon 50 million euros
Reports are that Dan Ashworth and Steve Nickson are in Spain finalising the deal - yet other reports suggest Isak himself is already in Newcastle. Is that normal (for a player to come over while club-to-club terms are still being agreed)? Would he not be involved in the negotiations with Ashworth & Nickson? Or is it just more lazy journalism regarding the current whereabouts of Isak or the NUFC staff?
Man U in for Dubravka. Well he ain't getting games here, does seem odd though, cos I doubt he'll get past De Gea, and he's hardly a young replacement for De Gea.
Only reason it's worth it is if we use some of that money towards Maddison. It would make more sense to use him in the Maddison deal as leicester need a keeper.
A loan deal to sit on United's bench? And put us in a vulnerable position of hoping to christ Pope doesn't get injured?
Maybe they just want him for Europa/Cup which would give him games, rush on European comps this year because of WC with all group stages finished early November.
Would effectively mean we get Pope + £10m for trading with Dubz. I'd say that's cracking business. But would much prefer to offload Darlow (for a lot cheaper obviously) and keep Dubz as reserve keeper. But I guess he doesn't fancy that. At least not here with us. But a loan deal I really don't get at all. Only benefit there is to Manure.
Equally, if Dubz wants a move at the first sign of having to actually fight for his place here, then he clearly won't fit the mould that Eddie is looking for. Maybe it's better to offload than to have someone potentially disrupting the dressing room because they're not happy. Just reading between the lines, but can see why the club might go for it on that basis.
