It's not the first rumblings re: Shota's suitability. Whilst I'd give him 10 games from the window closing, I think boardroom expectations this year are probably set higher than the fans.
Honeyman said himself that what we offered didn't make him feel wanted, and think it was someone in here who said Milwall offered him more - so you're right, could be rubbish, but would be strange unless Milwall made him feel wanted in another way.
Don't be ridiculous, we're a top of the table team who only just beat a bottom of the table team. How much longer can Shota survive?
Shota must have been screaming. 'Come and have a go if you're good enough...' Clearly Norwich pissed on their own cornflakes.
You think maybe they said he'd play in a position he might think would fit him better- as opposed to an inverted winger, or utility man and perhaps with more equal competition for the shirt as opposed to 'Turkish players' (his words) the club is investing significantly more cash in? HT 2 suggested it was slightly more based on bonuses and add ons and that he'd had an indication he was likely to play more in his preferred position. I agree (believe it or not) that disparity in wages can cause a problem when new money comes into a club. Honeyman probably was a casualty of that. Honestly, now you've seen Tufan with his gloves off and 90% fit in competitive games ( and the 1st round carabao isn't that) would you send Ozan back to re-sign Honeyman on the same money? Honest question? Obvs as fans we'd like to have our cake and eat it, but FFP headroom and the players own desires - especially now he's probably only got limited moves left in his career probably meant his decision, and the clubs may just be the best one all round?
Aaaha. Said Mr binary himself. But yeah. I agree. It isn't that straightforward, never is. But would you, tomorrow send Tufan back to Fener or Watford, re-sign George on 25k a week? Don't duck the question, because decision makers don't have the opportunity of hindsight... .. and we can only average 13m per year average losses after taking the covid year in the current reporting period, so maybe it was a case of signing one or the other.... In that situation, go on. Humour me... Ozan or George?
Tbh, I would’ve expected bigger questions over Guardiola’s future at Man City if he doesn’t manage to win the Champions League this season.
Stoke have recently come down from the premier league, we just can’t compete against these teams. Wait until we’ve played the likes of Rotherham and Blackpool, then we’ll know where we stand.
