Goals change games and when you score as few as we do you can't afford to miss penalties (even if sky are saying Brady dived!) I think Fryatt has been poor so far this season, and hasn't looked at all confident. I hope this doesn't completely shatter his low confidence, we will need him back on form if we want to kick on.
You could say that dive did for us. We were dominant - their heads were going down - suddenly Dive, Penalty Miss, and Oakwell comes alive, and their heads are up.
Is it down to our small squad/injuries? No real options available to NP at the moment. Start 4-4-2, with no real balance or width at the moment.... change to 4-3-3 if we need to chase the game. Think we need Pusic back to offer some balance and get Koren back in the middle. or...... play Cairney in the middle and Koren free roll up front. That may be the way to go against West Ham as would allow us to pack the midfield when we haven't got possession.... Just a thought.
Has the Hull manager already left mentally? Sounds like it. Incidentally, well done Barnsley. My second team... lol.
The team today picked itself, I have no quarrels with that, however I do feel Koren should have started in his favoured central role, Brady on the left and Evans on the right. With Evans and McKenna in the centre we have little or no creativity in the middle which means we'll struggle to create chances and Koren is wasted out wide. Our squad is looking paper thin at the moment. I welcome the return of Pusic, Waghorn, Stewart, Barmby and Garcia who should all be back for Derby.
