I realise I ain't gonna win friends or influence many with my conclusions from months of deep, conscience churning reflection... BUT I'm afraid that it remains my considered opinion that our Ali is a bit of a donkey.

As for him taking free kicks, what's all that about? Audience particiption?! Please... not a hope in hell of finding a team mate, let alone the back of the net.

MotM? Hardly an exact science is it Professor Neville? Most passes? Stats mask a lot of truths.

And before anyone bothers to tell me that my opinions on Faulin border on the blasphemous, I know. Heard it all before on this topic. Nothing like as effective as Shaun Derry.

Agreeing with goldhawk here, he's had some great games and a coupl of average/poor. He's been exposed a few times - Cahill goal v Bolton and yesterday, Parker ripped him before the 3rd goal. We are seeing mistakes getting punished more regularly at this level so it's not just Ali. Adel needs to pull hs head in and work, regain the swagger/confidence and the midfield will be where it should be.

Interesting Brix how we see different things in different players. While I don't agree on Faurlin your views are far from blasphemy. For years I looked at Kevin Gallen and thought 'your problem is you are not quite good enough' and there are hosts of others....

I'm pro-Ali in general but it was pretty gut-wrenching successfully predicting Spurs' third goal a minute or so before it went in, when Ali had numerous chances to close down space. He just didn't look at all composed.

This is exactly what prompted my thread. I am concerned that he hasn't got the legs to provide adequate protection to the back four.

Ali Faurlin has a great future as a premier player IMO he is showing all the attributes some maybe nit as polished as the current midfield flyers but can't understand how brothers can't see he is considered by other teams as our best player
If he is a donkey then Barton is a lame pony with foot and mouth

In a word,no.To slow, cant tackle, cant shoot, cant head, gets lost when teams that run at us, doesnt have a clue when it comes to closing players down, free kicks awful and as for pass completion thats not hard considering most of his passes dont exceed 5 yards and very few of them are in a forward direction.Having seen all but 1 game this season my feelings are the same for nearly all the team from last year. Did a great job getting us promoted and I thank everyone of them for that but this division is a step to far for them.

We will see what happens to him when warnock has the chance to spend again. I get the feeling that the "I luv Ali" brigade would rather have him in the side no matter who we bought.

Well I think that's not true. If we buy two superior midfielders then fair enough but we'd have to spend a hell of a lot of money to do that. There not an "I luv Ali" brigade- there's merely a majority who realise the importance of him to the team and a minority that jump on him when he has a poor game while not lauding him when he plays well.
