You think if we get 2/3 strikers one of them might go out on loan ? Wouldn’t say much for their recruitment!
Is there a twist ? Edwards will want to know what his squad is and how much money he has soon. Be nice to keep these guys but if we aren’t get the moves done ..
What a good piece from Andrew French at the WO. He clearly has taken Ollie's advice and not joined the rumour mill. I think it also shows up Sarr in a good way. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...orward-ismaila-sarr-hasnt-joined-aston-villa/
What's now being said re Newcastle is that their 2nd, 3rd bids were verbal only so whilst they may believe they have reached agreement they are yet to send Watford a written offer. If what has been said re numbers is close to the truth I can't see the Pozzo's accepting add ons that rely on Newcastle being in Champions league nor do I think at 25m will they accept only 10% sell-on clause, they will want more. I'm not saying it won't go through but more twists yet. Re Sarr, either he goes or he signs an extension to his contract. The current situation can't continue. Just my opinions
It looks as though your reading of the situation could be close to the mark. Watford will "not entertain any bids" for Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr and are ready to offer the 24-year-old a new long-term contract after his proposed move to Aston Villa fell through. (Mirror) The Hornets have also not accepted Newcastle United's offer of £25m for Brazilian forward Joao Pedro. The Magpies will need to increase their bid for the 20-year-old. (Telegraph)
Kamara sold to Udinese ( yes them ) for 16 million but staying with us back on loan ?! Obviously don’t fancy our chances of getting promoted ?
A very uncomfortable Eddie Howe when talking to Newcastle TV gave the impression that he was not sure what was going on, but did say that Pedro was not his player at the moment.
Sky appear to be repeating the same details (£25 million plus £5 million in add-ons) as the bid which Fabrizio Romano announced on twitter yesterday, but Jason Burt (who has good contacts at the club) later reported in the Telegraph that this bid had been turned down. Eddie Howe confirmed - as far as he knows - that no agreement has yet been reached in his press conference this morning. Perhaps the new bid is written (rather than verbal) and contains a different format for the add-ons, which were previously based on consistent qualification by Newcastle for the Champions League and unacceptable to Watford. Who knows what is happening?
This might just be getting some money as we need it for Kamara but not losing him totally . Could all be a bit dodgy ?!
Perhaps there is cash flow problem. Is not another of the staggered payments to Rennes for Sarr due shortly? Or perhaps the club is now planning to keep both Sarr and Pedro. Maybe they want to make a substantial bid for a player (probably an unlikely scenario). Everything will only become clear in time.
