[ATTACH O was trying to remember which goole eyed cartoon bird Truss reminded me off... it was similar to this one, but its not it... very annoying
He's looking happy now Labour are battering the tories https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/...-election-liz-truss-rishi-sunak-b1019872.html
The following is the title of an email I've just received asking if we'd like to interview for this job in Florence. Pre-Brexit I'd have probably gone for a year just for the crack, now it's just too complicated to go through the process of work permits etc. When I went to work in the South of France I needed nothing in the way of paperwork, the French couldn't have stopped me if they wanted to. It's a shame, in my opinion, if our children can't just swan off to work in Europe to broaden their experience. Head House keeper/Estate Manager Couple in Florence, Italy/ salary 60 000 Euro annual – you need an EU passport in order to apply!
He's sat back quierly, done nowt and allowed Boris enough rope to hang himself ... ... don't fix it if it's not broke.
We need to get away from personality politics and get back to politicians who say and deliver on their promises
It would help if he was prime minister of a party that had some policies. Fancy taking on the mess we are in.
Starmer is leader of the opposition not prime minister I keep reading these comments about the lack of policies from you Rooch but they are untrue. It could be you just don't know where to find them, just try looking at Conservative policies and you will find quite a few of them . Starmer is the Leader of the Opposition and it’s hardly his job to develop comprehensive policies to do this Governments job for them. The Conservative Party are not averse to stealing Labour policies and claiming them as their own: - 1. Windfall tax 2. Energy price cap 3. HS2 4. Organ donations opt-out 5. Cutting fixed-odds betting terminal stake To £2 6. Banning ivory trade 7. Outlawing bee-killing pesticides 8. Increasing maximum sentences for animal cruelty 9. Plastic bottle return schemes 10. Cutting the wait For Universal Credit To 5 weeks 11. New Clean air act 12. National infrastructure commission All lifted by Conservatives from Labour. Having said that, Starmer has laid out his own strategy leading up to the next General Election and once an election is called he will develop his strategy into policies and publish them in a Manifesto, that’s how politics work https://labour.org.uk/stronger-together/ As leader of the opposition he has developed two major policies in response to the cost of living crisis. His Windfall Tax on energy companies was adopted by the government and his cap on energy prices at October’s price level is likely to be adopted Not bad going for an opposition leader with no policies.
Trussed actions when a minister, slashed £250m of a budget ment for fitting and monitoring sewage being pumped into rivers, lakes and the sea. As a famous ancient comic once said "Another fine mess you got me into...:
I'm trying hard to think of any politician, in the last fifty years, who has delivered on their promises. Only two come to mind. Mrs T who promised to curb The Unions, de-nationalise everything she could and along the way support the 'weralth creators'. Boris, who promised Brexit. But that was about the only promise he kept. No doubt he will claim that Covid stopped him keeping the rest of them in his, inevitable, book!!!. Experience tells me that each lot is as bad as the other. The expeses scandal SHOULD have taught ALL of us that.
