They had a good amount of fortune and finished clinically. The 2nd and 3rd killed the game, but they were top strikes. Maybe we could've got closer to Swift but the Furlong goal was unstoppable. Some days your luck is just in . I mean look at who they brought on as well.
Probably the best we've played away this season but still well beaten, and bullied a bit. Tufan going off so early certainly took the wind out of our sails but Woods coming on was very good for an hour. Unlucky with the Oscar shot which was tipped onto the bar from a lovely ball from Woods and drastically unlucky with the Elder own goal, which changed the game and the momentum for WBA. Soft penalty again, then our heads seemed to go down and we looked a soft touch. Back four looked knackered. Coyle ? beaten too often for me. Happy day for Bruce and the WBA fans, questions and worries about our injury situation from Shota. Pleased for Oscar and he and Woods making his debut were the positives today.
I trust Acun he is not an idiot and will see what we need, I'm certain he and Kessler are beavering away to bring bodies in to improve us. Let's just be happy that the Allams have ****ed off and we have someone who loves the club, football and the City. UTT
Unfortunately injuries haven’t helped going into today’s game and West Brom away is never easy, it’s how we bounce back now although I don’t know if any of the injured will be back. Let’s see regarding signings as well.
Some positives… Oscar (obviously) and Tetteh linking up well. Woods looked decent. We kept going until the end. A sign of good team spirit and fitness. Negatives: Another key injury. Can’t believe this bad luck we’re having! Elder and Coyle we’re not good enough. Too many crosses allowed into the box. Williams was too lightweight. He’s not a bad footballer, but he’s not Allahyar. So where do we go from here? It looks like we’ll need to sign quite a few more players unfortunately!
It’s good to have numerous vocal players, in 2008, we had a lot of players who were shouters, Coyle had a bad game today, but I think he’s the best choice for Captain, is Greaves too young to be a leader? I think he’s good on the ball, he seems to have stopped grabbing players when defending, but would Captain make him distracted? It’s a big job on the pitch to try & keep an eye on everything when it’s a busy game.
Got to be primarily a full back issue without trying to be smug, twice I said stop Jed Wallace crossing this week and we didn’t do it judging by the crosses going in . Coyle isn’t defensive enough , I’d rather a defensive full back any day than a wing back unless he can do both well, Rosenior wasn’t bad at both. We knew the problem but isn’t solve it , so many times opposition managers know our strengths and nullify them. But with so much talent to come back I’m sure we’ll get there
The only issue with signing Pelkas, Halil and Salah all on loan is that we've only got 1 loan spot left and that'll probably be filled by Ngakia. We could definitely do with another LB and we've not really got anyone we could sell for money to help with FFP. ****ing Wilks off would help, but apart from that, who would really raise funds? Doc maybe? But we're short in midfield. Williams at a push too
Saw the first half, sounds like I missed the fun in the second half (grandkid duties took over), but with the amount of players we are missing its sensible not to get too carried away by this. Let's see were we are when we start getting a few back. Don't get too high when we win, dont get too low when we lose is the key this season, time for a little reality check.
We hit the bar twice. If we hadn’t given away a penalty and defended one of the crosses better on another day we would have been coming home with 3 points.
Oh well, it’s only a game! She says opening the 2nd bottle of vino in a tranquil setting in Cyprus! Put this one down unfortunately as a bad day at the Hull City office ✅ Probably saved Brucies bacon ✅ For this week anyway. Well done to the travelling support, loud & proud, have a safe journey home.
All 5 games played this season could have easily gone either way. This one happened to go the other way today. If you look at our stats, number of shots, possession etc after 5 games, I'd bet we have the lowest in the top half of the table by far. Yet we are where we are... Shows a lot of promise for the attack, being that clinical already. What we need to do though is control games so we're creating more chances up front and allowing them far less against us... Which will hopefully come with more time... Providing we can get some players fit... Two of our new signings haven't even made it to our bench yet.
Wilks will be moved on as will Randell probably and Scott don't think Doc will go anywhere, there is room to bring a LB in if they decide to do so.
He took that second one really well, showed good strength to hold off the striker. Really nice link up with Tetteh too.
