Are we expecting any players to be exiting before the transfer window ends? There was a lot of speculation over the summer months about certain players but the rumours have gone quiet.

I was disappointed we didn't keep him when he went to Middlesborough.
A solid defender and a good organiser.
As a free, if you could negotiate the right deal you'd be on to a winner.

No assumption it's me and it just gives an idea of subjects creating interest daily, it's not a problem mate but this is a daily interest/news thread being supplied by all of us, some items run for several days and it stops me duplicating subjects , I date most of the first comments daily just to keep abreast of all posts, it's not just your posts, it's the first comment of any day that I date.

It just demonstrates either your enthusiasm, you get up earlier than most or your just first person in the queue, stop looking out of that window.<laugh>

Getting back to Joe Bryan I think he might think twice about returning to BS3 despite being a major part of our squad when he was here. It may well be a difficult decision to essentially go backwards but for me he could be an asset given his experiences since leaving us. I suppose a lot of us may feel let down as he is a Bristolian, I believe, that left for pastures new but I don't think he deserves flack for that choice but should we expect or want him to return and set our world on fire?

    Adam Webster
Chelsea have been linked with a big money move for the former City defender. According to the Daily Mail, he could cost them in the excess of £60million as an alternative to Wesley Fofana.

City included a sell-on clause in the deal when they sold him to Brighton for £20m, meaning they'll pocket between 15-20% on any profit.

Therefore, City could rake in between £6m and £8m if Webster leaves for £60m.

If Webster, Kelly and Brownhill move it’ll definitely put pay to any FFP worries we may have had.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. LJ knew how to identify the players he wanted, and MA knew how to do a bloody good deal, whether some on here like it or not. They may have paid high wages for some signings, but the model was working until COVID kicked in and the bottom dropped out of the market and left us with some players on high wages.

Kelly was home grown wasn’t he? , the other two credit where it’s due, the problem was how we spent the money we got for them, if you use that model you have to replace the ones you sell with similar or better replacements, we didn’t do that unfortunately.

LJ signed over 65 players, shotgun approach and Mark Ashton was our CEO, he left us with a debt of £38.4m for the financial year ending 31/05/21 the date he departed, we had LJ & MA for 4.5 years, far longer than Covid and players contracts.

I’m sure that some of the players were signed by Ashton without consulting LJ.
Ryan Kent is the obvious example but Palmer could be another.
LJ had to work with what Ashton gave him.
