But the great unwashed do seem to have shopped in Lidl's and cooked up some pretty tasty football.

Unlike most, I thought Ba showed some magic moments for West Ham in his short spell and fancied a punt on him with SAFC.

Ben Arfa, well I must only have seen him play 3 or 4 times, but the young lad has bags of talent.

Tiote is a midfield bully, that has 2 good feet and can look world class at times. But most of the credit must go to Alan Pardew, for the unassuming way he has gone about his business. Remember, they lost their Talisman striker to the scousers for big bucks too.............

Yes, at present I am envious and can't see them dropping down the table like we did last year, but their next 3 games (Everton, Citeh and Manyou ) will be the true litmus test,........

Just remember they're LUCKY haha, seriously though they have (sadly) been impressive SO FAR, we know what it's like to feel on top of the world. However unlikely it seems they'll start to lose silly games, just like us (Please!!)

Both Sunderland and the Skunks have good players, and on paper we should be head to head with them.

The main difference at the moment is confidence. NUFC are riding high on it at the moment, whereas our players get nervous playing at home cos they feel that the fans are nervous.

We always have a pop at the unwashed fans for being delusional, but maybe that is the key to their success. We want to be a top club, they believe they already are. Power of the mind?

This was mentioned on sky sports..

Phil Thompson fears that Sunderland's players are becoming too nervous playing in front of their home fans.

The Black Cats had to come from behind twice in Saturday's clash with Aston Villa at the Stadium of Light, with Stephane Sessegnon's vital leveller coming in the 89th minute of the game.

The point will come as a relief to manager Steve Bruce, but he might have been expecting another win following their comfortable 2-0 success at Bolton last Saturday.

And Soccer Saturday expert Thompson is concerned that the tension among the supporters, which was evident after Richard Dunne gave the visitors the lead with five minutes left, is transmitting to the players.

He said: "When it was 1-0, thankfully it wasn't too long before they scored the first one, but when they lost the second goal the crowd were getting very anxious.

"Sunderland find it difficult to play. As we saw, away from home last week everything was fluent in the second half. Players were getting involved and wanting the ball.

"As it went on today the fans got nervous

On paper I'd take Newcastle's team over yours all day long. That's a neutral point of view. I like Larsson, still think Richardson is a decent player and Sessegnon shows flashes of class from time to time but it stops there. There's hype around that kid Meyler, so for all I know I could add a youngster or two to that list but I'm not going to because we're looking at current squads. I'm sure you're going to go and compare players like for like and say such and such is better than him etc. but to be fair that doesn't count because of who you support.

Now to Newcastle's fixtures, yes, the next few look difficult. I wouldn't expect them to lose vs Everton though, but I can't see them getting anything from the two games in Manchester simply because they are playing away, but Chelsea....they are there for the taking with Terry on eggshells, their entire team is rocking again and could tumble like last season. Norwich is a tough one again, but hardly worthy of putting them up there with the other few, I'd expect Newcastle to beat them if they can go to the Britannia and dish Stoke a trouncing.

C'mon, Stoke.......... really.......... they are and have been pretty poor of late. Most of their goals have come from long throws / balls and I think most teams have worked out how to thwart this threat at long last. The Mags have had a pretty easy start to the campaign, but like I said, the next 3 or 4 will tell.

I have a feeling they will still do well,.............. but have my fingers (and legs) crossed !!!

Its hard to be nice at times, we see threads saying well done Newcastle and still find people who use it to knock Sunderland, rather sad.

Haha, hilarious people playing down us being Stoke at the Britannia now. They'd conceded two goals there all season before last night, they'd lost once there in all of 2011. Everyone saying now that Stoke are just **** and us beating them doesn't mean anything, LOL.

I looked at the home form, and Stoke had won 2 and drawn 2 of their previous 4 home games, including Man Utd and Liverpool, so I don't think they were doing that badly at home. They've always been **** away. Only 1 team has beaten them there in 2011, we were massive underdogs, so most Newcastle fans would agree it's our most impressive win of the season. You can't really downplay it.

I believe that the only Sunderland players who would get into the toon line up are Larson and Sessengon from what I've seen so far. But I guess we're all biast, so I won't bother arguing that further.

Finally, we are not "deluded." We are not demanding top 4, or even top 6 of our players. I think that the key to our success is careful, measured scouting. We have picked players with something to prove and good attitudes, and told players who were in it purely for the money to do one (Gervinho). therefore, we have a fantastic team spirit and vibe. Sunderland have made a lot of signings, but I wonder if Bruce and co took into consideration some adverse effects on team performance that could take place during the "bedding in period."

Thanks again for the compliments though <ok> Hope you guys get something on Saturday and we MIGHT be in 2nd <yikes>
